Anytime you increase boost over stock limit, increases the cylinder temps, and can cause the stock headstuds to stretch with more stresses. I would do it, cheap insurance to blowing a head gasket!!!! One of my first mods!

I would recommend studs with alky and high boost. I got my alky done before cams, then got tuned for 26psi, but Al made sure to mention that I should get studs ASAP. I knew cams were on the way, so I wanted to wait for that installation, but I wouldn't recommend it. When we did the cams, we saw signs of possible head warping, so I would avoid doing alky without studs if I were you.

I guess thats like wiping your butt before you take a dump. Serves NO purpose. change them all at once! Or maybe I don't get the question.

haha..
I'll be captain obvious for a day.
He means that the method is to open the valve cover. Take one head stud out. Replace that one with a uber ARP unit. Torque it down right. Then move on to the next stud. One at a time.
This method works for me.

i was told it's not good to do them one at a time, because the head is warped a little due to the heat and pressure, when you release that it's a very good idea to take it all off, get it resurfaced and then put it back on all together to make sure it fits just fine.

Well, gotevo, everyone does the one at a time method, but if you want to go through all that trouble, then that's on you. It is the preferred method, yes, but the cost, time, and trouble is quite prohibitive. Doing one-at-a-time allows you to not warp the head.

So would studs be recomended for IX stage 1 cars, being that most are putting out that kind of power from stage 1 alone?
