IX Mail-In Flash Approx. Results...

Quick question....

I am going to be sending my ECU out to dynoflash very soon and was just curious as to what numbers to expect on an IX MR with the following mods:

HKS RS intake
Tanabe downpipe
Tuning Pros test pipe
HKS Hi-Power cat-back
stock boost

Approximate results? Thanks for any ballpark figures guys

Are you asking for gains after those mods or total gains with those mods and a tune?

With those mods, a custom Dynoflash and NOT STOCK BOOST, you can get 340-350whp, which is 70-80 over stock. You don't want to keep stock boost, though. Crank it to 22psi. Just get an $85 MBC, or you can rely on the flash to control boost, but it won't be more than 20psi or so. It will taper less, though.

Will do! Thanks for the advice.

Do I specify this when mailing in the flash? - my desire to run a MBC with 22psi?

I'm just trying to logistically figure out how this will work. Thanks again for the insight

Well, yes, if you do a mail-in flash, you send a note with ALL of your mods listed, the octane you use daily, and the boost you will be running. He will give you a flash that meets those needs.

However, you aren't too far from Samford, CT, so you could drive up there and get a custom dyno or road tune for just another $150.

Troll?.. nope.
It would suck for someone to buy something they didnt research only to have problems down the line. expensive problems.

best of luck whatever route you take.

What about a fuel pump, in addition to the MBC, I thought Al had recommended a Walbro for safety?

Mainly for the VIII, because the IX has an upgraded fuel pump from the factory. PDT has already gotten into the mid-500whp range on their stock fuel pump with a GT35r amazingly. However, it is still not a bad idea to get an $85 Walbro and install it even with minimal mods...just for safety...but not required.

Well, unless you say this same thing in every post in every vendor forum, then you're just trolling. There's no reason to make such cryptic statements in regards to this guy's question in the Dynoflash forum, and there's certainly no reason to insinuate that he may make LESS power after his flash. That's subtle trolling, but trolling nonetheless.
