I've pm'd you and also posted in your "PLEASE READ ** - Importance of having your car PROPERLY wreched BEFORE tuning !" thread requesting some help on how to fix my car. You'll be tuning it this weekend and I've waited two days for you to reply to no avail. Time is running down and I could really use some help.
Over the weekend my friends and I put a Maxford exhaust manifold on my car with a brand new OEM gasket from mitsubishi. Its torqued down properly and its leaking. The leak is over the gasket nearest the passenger side. when we water got on it we could see bubbles coming out only in that spot. I gave the car a pull and it reved hard all the way up to 7k and I put the clutch in since I was coming to a light and my rpm's held at 4k for a while till they slowly went down.
Do you know anything I can do to fix this?

Have you put back on the stocker to see if the problem persists? The Maxford may be warped or not perfectly flat/straight. Al may be able to help, but this is not really the sort of thing someone can diagnose and troubleshoot for you from afar.
On 05s, the rpms always hang when clutching-in at high rpm. Was this something different?

Restrictor pill is irrelevant to this - there is no correlation. My 05 MR has had the rpm hang always from day one, but it's the sort of thing you don't notice unless you're going to high rpm (7k) and clutching in real quick. I get it the worst when I hit the finish gate at the end of an autocross - the type where there's a stop gate with a final stop cone that you h ave to stop before with mega braking. I slam the brakes and clutch in at 7k+ rpm, and the rpms take forever to fall.
yeah i pmed al to for his tuning trip to arizona and i havent heard anything back from him either. i not really having any problems. it was just a few questions that i had so that i could make sure that our tuning session went smoothly.

If your exhuast is leaking due to your installation of the new header / manifold then i would go back to the stock manifold
Obviously the flange of your new manifold is not straight

I am very concern about your mod situation. I really assisted you trying to get you someone to install your SMC. I called Ray and he has a very busy scheduled, not sure if he can install it for you in time.
I also contacted Trevor (Trevorlj on this forum, red Stealth R/T 10.9@133), this is the guy that I also recommended you but he is also busy. I can think of a third person(PJsevo8 and his friend ).
People might be thinking that my subject is irrelevant but the fact is that you are scheduled for tuning in about 2 weeks and you still don't have your SMC installed and tested. We need to solve your problems ASAP Shadrick, I don't want to see you out of this tuning because of not being able to install your SMC.
PM me ASAP. If there is anything I can facilitate to get you ready for the tuning just let me know
Carlos
no worries carlos i will just do it myself. i was going get ray to do it simply because i have never done it before. and i tlked to ray a few days ago and it seems well within my ability level. i have done all my own wrenching up until this point....why should i stop now.

If I don't have anything going on this weekend I might be able to help. Give me a call, (I will PM my new number), I am not an expert installing them but I helped when mine was being installed.
What else needs to be done other than the SMC Shadrick? Is there a Auto Hobby shop at Fort Huachuca Shadrick?, we need to do some minor drilling and run the alcohol lines close to the brake lines underneath the car, I am just concern if your car is too low that is why I am suggesting doing it at Fort Huachuca with the full lift.

actually carlos it is a cooling mist kit, and i probably wont go to the one at huachuca as it is extremely crappy. i have a floor job with SUV jack stands, so i will probably just put it up really high right here in the parking lot and just work on it here.
