Al, could you chime in here?

Could you check out my thread in the Drag Racing forum? Any suggestions or ideas on what could be happening? Thanks.

Im trying to figure out if the wind could have made that much a difference or if it was something else. To only gain 15mph in the final 1/8 is pretty bad.

Well if you are going 12.1 on a mail in flash that is not bad

I have a few questions

#1 - what are you using as a boost gauge and how do you know if its accuarte ?

#2 - have you done a boost leak test ?

#3 - what is the altitude of the track ?

Al

Autometer boost gauge. Thinking about getting a Stewart Warner or something better. Not sure if it is accurate but Im not sure how to test it.

Several times I also received some huge wheel hop on my way to a few 2.2-2.3 60fts. What have you found to be the best solution for this? Front tire pressure was 30lbs, rear was 20lbs.

I would say your results are on par for your attitude and boost level with a mail in flash - in fact they are very impressive given your bad 60's

A good run and you could be in the 11's

Test your boost gauge against a known accurate pressure gauge and also try turning your boost up higher on staight race gas

The electric greddy boost gauges are really accurate. I think they are around 100 bucks.

Wheel hop is not good.. good way to kill a transfer case :\ I normally run a few extra psi in my tires anyways.. but I make no adjustment at the track and cut 1.7x 60's with no problem on Blizzak winter tires.

What rpm are you launching at? Do you have 2step launch control built into your dynoflash? It's really helped me get off the line.

Yes I have the 2-step flashed in.

I tried running 35psi in all 4 and just lit them up all the way through 1st, 1.9 60ft's. I tried running 22psi in all 4 and got mad wheel hop up front and 2.2-2.3 60ft's. Finally I set on about 20 in back and 30 in front so at least my front would spin and not hop. Best I saw was a 1.74 but my back end was hooking and kicking out horribly, almost went completely sideways.

Whats the best way to solve wheel hop?
