This is why I suggest the AVCR on the IX's as you can set the boost vs rpm to counter act the MIVEC on high rpms

It has to do with cylinder pressure, not the ECU controlling boost.
People love to tell me what their boost gauge says, but I only care about what a MAP sensor says while looking at a log on a laptop afterwards. People are always claiming this and that boost holding to redline, but when Al hooks up his MAP sensor and does a 3rd gear pull, it's always the same - constant taper from peak all the way to redline. The boost line is _never_ flat (on stock turbo).

The MIVEC bumps cylinder pressure significantly so we can get away with a degree less timing through the mid range which gives you a much greater margin of saftey
The IX's are really just street driving super cars
