octane booster is garbage. the only way to boost your octane is to mix in a higher octane fuel.

edit - gtechs are also garbage. get a wideband and an EGT sensor or even better a datalogger.

SCC (sport compact car magazine) did a octane test with two different octane boosters and toluene. The test was done by a certified, independent octane testing lab.

The gas they started with was shell 91 and it test out at 91.2 oct.
NOS racing octane boosted raised a tank of the shell 91 to 93.7
Outlaw octane booster raised a tank of the shell 91 to 92.4
They test three different amounts of tolune
1.5 gals made the 91 go to 92.9
3.0 gals made the 91 go to 94.1
4.5 gals made the 91 go to 95.5

Now you can say that octane booster dont work, but this was a test done by a cretified lab.
But before you go to the store and buy the NOS octane booster, I believe that the best way to raise your octane is to mix 100oct, 105oct or 110 oct UNLEADED race gas.

Also, my friend (Audi A4 2.8 V6 S/C) and I (my VIII) dynoed both our cars @ full fuction, which has a Mustang dyno. Then dynoed on a Gtech Pro RR and the charts were basiclly exactly on, both of them. Again this was on a new gtech (the one with a screen, not little black box, thats the old one). Basiclly if you set up the gtech right you get TRUE numbers.

Also, since every dyno reads different (even same brand and model), a GTech is just another dyno. If you get a baseline with it and do some mods, it will show if you made a gain or not.

How much should I mix to get 93 octane in a full tank of Chevron supreme 90 octane gas? How much additional mix of each 100oct, 105oct or 110 oct UNLEADED race gas to get 93?.. Thanks anyone..

A 2:1 ratio of 90 and 100 gets you 93.3 octane.

Use the formula Ang Wen Yan posted to figure the others out.

10 points raised = 1 full number raised.

So 91 octane + 10 point octane booster = 92 octane

Not 101 octane.

That's the common misconception with octane booster.

Oh yeah BTW, use toulen or race gas.

Octane booster is crap if you use it everytime you fill up your tank.
