Unhappy Disappointed...

I'm very disappointed with Al and how he's handling my business.
I learned about ECUFlash recently and Al's E-flash deal. I was really excited that I wouldn't have to essentially park my Evo for however long it took my ECU to make it to Dynoflash and back. I can't afford to have my car sitting in my parking lot gathering dust.
I requested two maps from him last Saturday (May 24), paid for them, and sent him my list of mods. Everything he needs to make a map for me right? Right...I get my maps on Sunday and I'll have some time to test them out to make sure that there's nothing wrong with them and have a little fun zooming around...hopefully without getting caught by the boys in Blue!
As I'm browsing through the forum I learn that he's out in Chicago that weekend doing tunes. Hm, I figured that he'd be pretty busy through the weekend so I should have something from him on Monday, Tuesday at the latest since he'd changed his time expectations to 24 hours. No biggie, I don't want to receive a half-assed map just to shut me up.
I didn't hear anything from Al on Monday so I sent him an e-mail requesting an update. I followed that up with a PM here later that afternoon to make sure that he'd get the message. I received a reply from him that he likes to take his time and make sure they, referring to the maps, are perfect and that I'd get them by nights end.
Perfect! Sooner than I'd expected really.
Wednesday rolls around and I've received neither my maps or anything else from Al. Browsing through the forums again I find that another user on here received his map a mere 3 hours after he'd submitted his order.
3 hours!
Other people had had the same issue with Al and his non-responsiveness. PMs, calls, e-mails, nothing.
I had figured that Al can get pretty busy tuning, researching, whatever he needs to do so I figured I'd grant him some leeway with my stuff. But after finding out someone received their order 3 hours after they placed it? WTF???
Had Al said that he was having trouble with my maps, I'd have been content to wait for him. Instead he stated that I would have my maps Monday night.
It's now Saturday and I've neither received my maps nor heard anything from Al.
It appears that the only time Al responds now is if we post in the forums and air out his dirty laundry.
I'm not asking him to do me a favor, I'm paying him to provide a product for me. A product that has not been delivered in the time-frame that HE specified.
It's sad that a kick@$$ product has been tainted by ****-poor service.

I have now become one of the disappointed.

I have your original payment on May 27 the day I started my Marathon trip to chicago

I have been over loaded for the past week. Today for example I was on the dyno in the am and mid day and then drove to MD for a tuning trip where I will be tuining all weekend. I like to work long , hard hours but often its hard to find a spare hour to sit down and write a map. I am catching up on the E Flash! requests though and have got some out in 2 - 3 hours in the past two days.

In any event . . . . the delays on your maps are that I was trying to find time to test a evo on 89 octane to make the 89 octane map you requested to save fuel dollars

I have never tested an Evo on 89 octane so i was curious to try it out

Sadly - I can not meet your time requirements on the 89 octane map so I will refund you

As for the 93 octane map - I am still waiting for you to email me your base map so I can modify it which i should be able to do in short order

Send the base map to email - Alfriedesq@aol.com

Thanks

89 octane? I'm not so sure if this is a wise solution to the rising gas prices, but I'm with Al on this one. Everyone knows he is a reputable tuner who knows his s#@%. Be patient.

You have to understand that the way he can offer this service is because he has a database with thousands of custom maps in it. I don't think he has one in it for 89OCT. I am honestly surprised he would even consider doing it. And from the looks of it he wont, just take the 93 map and be happy, I am sure it will be great. Run 93 or higher too, this may cost a buck or two more but it will save your motor.

al, I want an evo that will make 5billion hp from your flash, and do it all running on water..can you do that?

come on, if you can't afford the evo, then sell it. keep thinking of the old addage "if you want to play, you have to pay"..
I suppose the next post will be a review of the jcwhitney brake pads?

Yes getting in touch with Al can be frustrating. Keep trying.

And yes Al can be terse on occasion (part of his charm...).

Try to be patient as he does try to do a good job for his clients despite being overbooked.

You sir have just finished 2 easy steps to make an *** of yourself.

1. Make an extremely long post degrading the service of a vendor. "****-poor service, etc".

2. Neglect to mention to all who've read that you want a map customized for 89 octane gas....

i am also with Al on this one. This map that you are requesting is def a completely custom map. keep in mind that his maps that he uses have all been previously tested and tuned using other evo's. if he has never tuned a 89 map then he has to find a evo to test and fine tune the map.
