like i said before in previous posts about people thinking premium gas is so expensive. add it up. 14 gal @ 3.25/gl (87 octane) = $45.50. 14 gal @ 3.45/gl (91 octane) = $48.30. WOW, a whole $2.80 diffenence. Why don't you just skip a happy meal between fill ups and call it even. unbelievable.......

89 octane? comon, 91 should be minimum. (read your gauge cluster)

 

I think the point he is trying to make is that he paid for something he hasn't recieved. I don't think he realized that making a custom map for 89 would take some time. He probably thought that Al just needed to send him a couple of maps from his stash. I know how it is to get a hold of Al sometimes and the guy just needed to vent. If he wants to run crappy gas, let him, its his car. I would never run that kind of gas and if I had to I would pay $1.00 more to get a couple of octane points higher. There was obvioisly a communication problem and this guy just got pissed. Keep in mind bro, Al is not the only guy who can flash your ECU. There are other miracle workers out there for ya.

 

I think there is nothing wrong with what the guy wants to do - (I would not do the same IMHO but I like to accomidate my customers)

I think that miscommunication is the blame and hopefully he will read this and email me his base map so I can at least get hiom his 93 octane map

 

yeah but al has the experience and will sells his base maps for $50. im sorry but i dont know any other vendor that comes even close to that.

 

Al can be difficult to contact but he is a man of his word and takes care of his customers.

 

Some of you understand what's going on here with what I said and some of you don't.

I know he was very busy through the weekend from his trip to Chicago and then had a bad trip back. This I found out from reading Other posts on here from other people complaining that they were having a tough time contacting him. I figured I'd cut the guy some slac. Busy weekend, $h1t+y trip back, people harrasing him.
I didn't want to add more salt to the wound so I kept my communications with him to a minimum. I didn't call him every ten minutes or flooded his PMs/email with nastiness. As I stated before, I'd have been perfectly content to wait for him if he'd said that he needed some time to get my maps together. He gave me a date for when he'd have my maps ready and he didn't deliver.
I know Al has an extensive collection of maps that he's done in the past and I figured that what I needed would be in it already. If not then let me know that he'd have to put one together for me and I wait. Simple as that.

Whatever maps I asked Al for are irrelevant. I could've asked him to make a map for Camel pi$$! There would have been no problems if he told me that he'd have to research the octane content of Camel pi$$ and get back to me in 2 months. Had he told me it's a bad idea I'd have listened to him because I believe he knows what he's talking about.
