PayPal in advance is the most preferable followed by cash in person.

Hey Al....I'm adding a hotside and 02 housing on my car. I'm still running my tune from when you tuned my car with my 264's, but I've since put 272's in it. I thought about just sending my ECU to you just for a mail in flash for these parts, but I figured I'd ask you which you think would be better.

I eventually want my car tuned on a dyno and right now a mail in flash is free for me besides for shipping. I wouldn't want to pay more money than I have to if say you was planning a trip to to Buschur in the VERY near future.

Thanks in advance....

You don't need to get tuned on a dyno, but that's your prerogative. The prices in Chicago are lower than ever, so you may want to take advantage of it. You need a custom tune for the 272s/o2/mani, imo.

He goes to Buschur every month for tuning.

I'd just like to have an idea of what my car is making at the time my car is tuned. When I had my 272's installed, Al said that his tune was safe enough that I wouldn't need a retune. I'm not gonna have a hotside and 02 put on my car without a tune though.

My car is running like poop right now. It wants to die even now and then pulling into the garage and I can hardly use the A/C while sitting at a light. The car starts to idle around 400-500 rpm. I'll be having my hotside and 02 installed hopefully next week. If my schedule looks good, I'll make the trip to Chicago. If it's taken by then, I'll settle with a mail in flash til he hit Buschur again...

Thanks

What intake and BOV do you have? The cams are too mild to cause that, and the tune wouldn't cause that either. I would suspect a VTA BOV or some sort of vaccuum leak at idle.

JUst FYI when tuning I use a very accurate and costly G meter which records down to the 100th of a G exactly how hard the car is pulling

I measure the before and after which shows you the actual gains in acceleration you are making and in which areas

I have found that dynos are useful for getting a power number but less useful for an accurate tune

For example, my 9 second evo has never been on a dyno and I get free dyno time any day I want

I tune it 100% at the track

I dont race on a dyno - I race at the track so that is where the data logging is done

I do the same with road racers

Food for thought

Same place as always in Chicago. If it's not listed anywhere in this thread, then go look at the Chicago tuning trip from a few months ago - it's listed there.
