Quick Question after flash

Hoping somebody could answer my question. Hopefully Al. I just got my ECU back a couple days ago and I just want to say the whole car feels a lot smoother now. It just seems like a consistent powerband. However, my one quick question is that my boost is topping off at 15 psi. Im not sure why but it just stops. Its not spiking up to 21 and then dropping it just stops. So im guessing the flash took care of the fuel cut issue.
My question is, before I turn up my boost controller, does anybody know what Al usually sets the safe boost level at when he flashes. Thanks.

If you have an MBC, then the flash has nothing to do with your boost. It should not have changed from before your flash - the boost should be exactly where it was before the flash. On 93oct, you should run 21-22psi peak in 3rd.

yeah thats funny. if you have the MBC hooked up properly - the flash has no effect on boost.

Well the reason I ask was that because I thought maybe for safety reasons Al is able to limit my boost level with a flash. So I wanted to make sure before I do something Ill regret. Before I got the flash I was just spiking due to fuel cut so I never even turned up my MBC. And Yeah Im running 93 Octane. Thanks.

There is no limit of the boost with a MBC

I would think you prob developed a boost leak after you started with the flash and it was making more power

Try to turn up the mbc and see how the boost reacts

A presurized boost leak test may be in order

Fatalbert, I think you're really confused here. Your boost wasn't spiking BECAUSE of fuel cut. You may have been hitting fuel cut when your boost was too high, but spiking is normal. It's what happens when you have an MBC and roll into boost from low rpm - it spikes because the wastegate is a little slow to respond as the pressure bleeds through the small bleed hole on the MBC.

Now, you have a flash, so there is no fuel cut. You can run whatever boost you want, but it's up to you to set the boost at a proper and safe level for the octane you use. If you use 93oct, then set the boost at 21-22psi. Simple.

Oh ok. I see. Thanks for your help Warr and thanks for responding Al. Im gonna go run a boost leak test first again before I turn up the boost. Appreciate it.
