al or warr, 2step gone

took my car to the track a few weeks ago, working fine. wife has been driving the car and put about 100 miles in the last few weeks on it. took it out tonight and the 2step is gone. thoughts? it just revved up to the redline. should I unhook ecu and reset?

This may sound like a really stupid question, but are you depressing the clutch while your reving it up?

It can't just go away unless the 5k switch is unplugged. Resetting the ECU wouldn't do anything.

Are you sure you had the clutch depressed and were 100% stationary?

If the car is not 100% stationary the 2 step wont work.

Test with the ebrake on, it sounds silly but I've rolled so slow I couldn't tell before and have revved to redline.

Does this happen with the car in neutral and not moving at all? Is the clutch depressed?

Im not sure but why not check the switch wiring and see if there is an attached fuse? or maybee the switch wiring is loose.

the clutch doesn't need to be pressed at all.
as long as there is 0 speed as registered by the VSS the stationary rev limit will be active.

if your not 100% stopped and the clutch isnt depressed all the way the 2 step wont work. I,m not 100% sure thinking about it now as far as the clutch being in but you have to be at a dead stop for sure.

That is not true. The clutch HAS to be depressed - there is a switch that is activated when the clutch pedal pushes in a button at least on 05/06s, and he has an 06. You can rev all the way to the regular rev limiter if the clutch is not depressed. What made you say that AlwaysInBoost?

it make sense with the car moving. I was unaware that the car had to be completely stationary, and the car was rolling a little, perhaps a half mile an hour. It shocked me as the rpm's went right past 5900 and I finally let up at 7300(slow reaction because I was shocked)..
am going to try it again today and see if it works. It should, as the explanation above makes sense..

and yes, I did have the clutch all the way in.

thanks for all the help as always
