Flash technical questions

All,

I'm almost ready to start modding my IX and I want to get the best bang for the buck w/o sacrificing reliabilty or quality. I was focusing on the Warrelton deal until I starting seeing some flak about Al's techniques. I'd like to get some technical info about flashing and how Al (or other tuners) handle it. I heard mention of different maps... Is it true? How does the car decide on which map to use? Is it based of the knock sensor? How does the dynoflash handle ignition timing? Is it just a static advance/ retart, or is dynamicaly adjusted via the ecu with help of the map. Is the fuel curve the only parameter that is adjusted? Any help with these and/or any other related info would be greatly appreciated. I just want to understand the basics, for I don't have the time to spend doing research in order to tune the car myself.

Thanks guys.

Sincerely,
Charlie Vincent

A few points to remember

I have been working with Buschur on the Buschur Flash which uses proprietary Buschur settings for 3 years now

NOT ONE of the many hundreds of Buschur Flashed cars has ever had any problems what so ever with any sort of engine failure of tuning related problem and this includes the BR 350 cars

There are other tuner shops who have recently made allegations about my tuning in my opinion as a way to attempt to undermine my solid reputation in this business. Apperently, these slanderous smear tactcis are having some effect as you are taking the time to ask these questions.

It is regretable that these same tuner shops who have in some cases have blown up dozens of customer's engines would try and call in to question the saftey of my tuning which has always been a very strong point of my product. Its funny back in the day they would critique my dyno sheets, saying they were too rich and conservative. Now that my customers have proven to be the fastest with reflashes and the most reliable they are trying to conduct negative marketing tactics to scare people away from my product with lies and mis-infomrtaion.

To answer you specific questions :

1 - On a IX Buschur Flash all your high and low octane maps will be set differently

2 - How the car chooses which map is not information I choose to disclose.

3 - I handle ingnition timing by having spent 3 years on a daily basis tning evos and traveling all over the united states to test timing maps I have created on the dyno in various conditions and locations.

4 - The following maps are adjusted in Buschr Flash - fuel x 2 - ignition x 6 - MIVEC and various other valves and functions I do not wish to disclose.

The Buschur flash has proven itself with many 11 second customers on stage I and II all over the USA on IX's and NOT ONE blown up IX to date.

Results speak more loudly and relevantly than conjecture and negative marketing - at least IMHO.
