Disappointing results? Help!
Update 10/27/06 After MBC installation at 23psi:
Now my horsepower is up at 306.3@7250 and torque is up to 323.4@3750. Baseline numbers for my car bone stock are 250.1@6250 and 249.1@3750 on this dyno.
Mods are Injen Intake, UICP, LICP, BR TBE, Perrin MBC. Curves look like it could use some smoothing out. Anyways, I'll post my results now, and after the second tune again.
Thanks Al!

I'm desperately hoping someone here can answer my questions about what I believe to be crappy results on my Evo IX MR after mods.
All my dyno testing was done at the same location w/ same settings on the Mustang Dyno. All runs were done at least 3 times, with no major deviation between runs (<5HP/lb-ft). Selected runs for reporting purposes were chosen as the "cleanest" runs. All runs were done in 3rd gear. Gas is 92 pump gas in the Redmond/Seattle WA area.
Stock:
HP - 250.1@6250RPM
TQ - 249.1@3750RPM
Boost spikes at ~17PSI@ 3500, dribbles off to 15PSI@ 6500
Torque curve hits peak of 249@3750 and starts to fall off sharply from 205@5500
Car is running pretty rich... A/F is 11.0@4000 dropping to 10.5@6000
Injen Intake; Injen Intercooler Pipes; Buschur Exhaust; Walbro Fuel Pump:
HP - 267.7@6750RPM
TQ - 242.6@3750RPM
I don't have the details of this run, I'll be sure to get it, but its very very similar to my baseline run. The HP/TQ curves are almost right on top of each other until 6000RPM, where the TQ doesn't fall off as quickly as stock, and HP rises to hit its new peak of 267.7. Should I have even of lost torque with these mods?
Same Mods + DynoFlash E-Flash:
HP - 280.0@7250RPM
TQ - 252.8@5000RPM (Plateau's at 3500)
Torque and HP rise faster than baseline run, but Torque is still limited to 250. Torque falls off slower than stock, and dribbles steadily down to 200@7500RPM. HP curve is right over the stock curve but continues to rise @ 6000RPM.
Boost holds at 17PSI from 3500RPM to 5000RPM, and then slowly falls to 15PSI at 7000RPM.
A/F is smooth. 12.8@3500RPM, 11.9@4750RPM, 11.2@6300RPM
I've seen IX's put down more power than me with similar mods. I don't know if there was an installation issue I should be concerned with, or if one of my parts just saps the potential power increase out of my system?
Someone help a noob out!

First off, 250whp on a mustang dyno stock seems rather impressive to me, most people are in the 220-230 area on those (correct me if im wrong).
Your boost also looks way off. With 92 octane you should atleast be able to spike around 22psi, hold at 20-21 and taper to 18-19.
But with your mods/flash I don't see why you shouldn't be able to bag a good 50+ whp. Try upping the boost and see what happens.

The boost is low (should be at 21 psi etc....) also, I've heard a lot of complaints about torque loss with intakes, especially with light mods. It's probably too late now with the tune and all, but I'll bet you're torque would have returned with the stock airbox.
Have you checked for boost leaks?
I had a bad BOV that kept me at and around 17psi for a few days.
I think you can work around things, upper IC pipes typically equal 0 gain. Find out if the LICP works on the IX as well as it did on the VIII - it was a decent (if not a little pricey) mod
If you can flash back easily, try the stock airbox, the rest of the mods are likely ok.
Good luck
EDIT: Sorry I thought I read "upper" IC pipes, re-reading it - it sounds like you have both.

Yup, I have both UICP and LICP. I'm not expecting gains from the UICP at all, and I'm expecting a small HP increase and possibly a very small torque loss from the intake... but nothing that would invalidate all gains from my other mods.
Al did recommended an MBC or an EBC as my next step. However I didn't want to jump ahead and continue adding mods until I verified I didn't seriously fubar anything up between points A and C.
Also... I have an eBay O2 housing (turbo elbow) which again, isn't expected to produce any significant gains...but also not expected to cause power nullification...
Andifidie: Yes, the 250/249 dyno rating was much higher than I expected... which was something closer to 230-240 range.
General consensus seems to point at my relatively low boost reading? BTW, the boost score was recorded by the dyno as the pressure in the intake manifold I believe. It was a MAP reading.
Here's a copy of my stock dyno charts. I will be scanning and uploading my new one soon.

mate your boost is REALLY LOW!!! !!! !!!
my IX when stock used to have 21 overboost and drop to 16 to the redline and now with a mbc it spikes 22 and and holds 19...
with your mods and the missing 5-6 psi of boost you will see 40-50 whp more...
Now, go and get a mbc ASAP... You need 100-115 dollars and a couple of hours for the install...
