My Dynoflash experience...

history

I have the BR/Warrtalon Stage 1 kit, which included a flash by Al@dynoflash.
From the first time I put my ecu in after al flashed it, i had nothing but headaches.

First, my car wouldnt start, it was my fault, because I must have broke somthing. Al says send it back, ill check it. So he claims to check my ecu on 2(!) evo IX's, and says it works You must have messed up on something on your end. He ships it back, and I plug it back in my car. No start. After 3 or 4 rounds of this back and forth ($50 shipping each time, and getting yelled at over the phone), Al sent me back a stock ecu, and told me to deal with David Buschur for the any other issues... Finally, he sent me a cable to flash my own car in the mail, and emailed me the map. Still didnt work. So i called Al, and had him walk me through the flash process. Apparently there was NEVER an immobilizer code on my flashes. Of course it didnt work. Al fixed it and i was happy.

Of course i had rented a car for 2 weeks, had to have my car towed to a shop, and spent a few hundred in shipping.

Dave from BR was awesome the whole time, and very apologetic about the whole situation. He even reimbursed me all of my out-of pocket expenses. David.

This was long ago, and I just dropped the issue, as I didn't want to bring any heat to Al because he did get it working. Fast forward to today. I went to get a few pulls on a dyno. 3 runs sub-300 hp, and one actually hit 309. That was after the race gas i put in. 303 ftlbs of torque max. And the AFR was sub-10 until like 6k -PIG RICH! And, the low-octane map was the same as the high octane map. I had no safety net in case of bad gas or something. good tune...

I had it retuned. 313 hp, 321 ftlbs, AFR cleaned up. The power comes on a few hundred RPM sooner too! They also cleaned up the tune a bit (ie added the proper low-octane map, fixed the misplaced rev-limiter, etc). I will leave the name of the tuner and shop out of this thread.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Al, but I can honestly say mine was rather pleasant.

bash? who bashed? i was there when al BASHED the poster, several times. telling him he could not put in the ecu right, and he messed it up. al was very rude, and i though the post was anything but bashing. infact, he left out a few details i would have put in, just to save face. no one is perfect, i agree. in this case, al ***ed up big time.it took weeks of my buddy (the poster) calling and leaving messages before he even got his out of pocket money back- who ended up coming from buchar since al would no longer talk to him.

I agree. David went out of his way to help. Al gave me the run around and pointed the finger. He flashed my car a few times. This took almost 3 weeks of downtime. I was expecting 3 days. How did I not give him a chance?

And I wasn't bashing anyone. I simply posted this up to inform others of my experience. If I wanted to bash, this would have went in a high traffic forum...

Did you get a mail in tune from the shop that tuned you this last time? A mail in tune will be setup ultra conservative for safety first!! This is why AMS doesn't do mail in tunes because there are too many variable. Al's mail in tunes work are they perfect? Nope, but if you want a extra 20whp it's cheap and easy.

Sort of a apples to oranges comparison if the new tuner didn't do a mail in tune too IMO.

Thank you Mr. Lozon for your thoughts

I am sorry if you are not satisfied

Please direct your Buschur Flash inquiries to Mr. Buschur who has been in charge of handling your situation - including sending you the flashing cable and rom image

________________________________________________

Side note - I have been installing Buschur Flases for nearly 3 years now and this is probably the first instance I have seen with any NO START condition

I do not have an accurate count of the total number that have been done to date however it is a lot and they have proven to be very reliable and problem free

This is a good observation

Especially on 91 octane the Buschur Flashes as directed by Buschur are very safe and on the rich side for obvious reasons

So far there has never been a Buschur Flash engine failure or problem

I would rather see them with power left on the table than tuned to the ragged edge

AS FAR as the performance level of Buschur Flash

The record to date is 11.56 in the 1/4 mile on a Evo IX pump gas map - Stage II - stock turbo - 93 octane map

Actually if he is making 309 whp with a 91 octane Wartalon kit he is not that far off the mark at all - IMHO

Of course every dyno reads differenetly but I would expect at least 20 whp of gains that can be pulled out on any mail in flash

The BIG ISSUE of course

IF the new tune will knock and pull timing on the road with that 91 cali gas ?

And - how reliable it may prove over 100,000 miles - which many of my customers have already logged

Al

PPS - Buschur Flash has a stock rev limiter also per Buschur specs

Again reliability being the focus
