02 housing on EVO IX??

I read somewhere in the advanced forums about boost creep issues on the IX with 02 housings installed. Does anyone have one on their IX? I know it to be quite beneficial on the VIII but havent been able to get an unbiased opnion on it yet. Is it worth getting one with my TBE? thanks guys

There should be no problem as long as your wastgate arm is properly set up

awesome, hey al I know you are mega busy and all. I sent you a PM in regards to setting up a tune. just wanted to talk to you about it and talk about mods and schedulling and all that jazz. IF you are not busy I can call the shop if you are around or via PMs. thanks

as far as setting up the wastegate arm, the car is stock right now, little less the 6k on it. Should there be any adjusting going on, or should it be ok from the factory? thanks

^^^^Bill,

The wastegate arm is not an aplicable subject since the arm itself is located only from one end of the turbo(inlet side of the compressor) to the hotside of the turbo(far left component of the turbo as if you look at it from the front).

In reality a o2 housing has nothing to do with the operation of the arm itself, however the hotside does(holds the flapper in places so that it swings).

With all my respects I think some of you guys were thinking of the hotside. Guys, rethink my post and you see what I mean.

Carlos

There should be no adjusments neccesary. The o2 housing gives you flow, the waste gate arm deals with delay of the opening/closing of the flapper and it directly controls the boost that you will build up based on the delay of the flapper.

Yes indeed Bill, it sounded confused because in reality there was no correlation at all. I want to say in a friendly way that people got sidetrack thinking of the hotside which indeed holds the control arm in place.

I had a Helix o2 housing and had big problems with boost creep. Don't know why, had the same o2 on my VIII. Didn't make any sense. I have only heard of a couple others with the problem.

Ive got the Helix with no issues. I dont see how an O2 housing would affect boost creep.
