al do you lock the ecu?

im havin cams and head studs installed. (yes the headstuds are being installed properly.

i cant make it down to CT till this summer. was going to get a meth kit and retuned by you. but anyways to my question

the tuner up here was going to tune it for the cam install on the dyno. i need to know if you lock the ecus? if so am i stuck going to you all the time now? (not thats a bad thing)?

and if you do lock the ecu anyway i can unlock it? if not is it safe to maybe run the car with cams for 2-3 months without a retune?

I do change the init code on my ecus to prevent the roms from being erased by Mitsu dealers when the cars come in for service (oddly enough that was a significant problem which resulted in a lot of ecus being fed ex'd back to be to have roms re-installed in the ecus over the pasrt few years). Simply desicribed, many mitsu techs would install updates (TSB related) to ecus when cars came in for unrelated services such as oil changes.

The unlocker which will get inside any of those flashed ecus with a modified init code is located at the Active Matrix forums free of charge.

Al,

When did you start locking the ecu's? The last time I got flashed by you was 6/29/04.

BTW...the car still runs great.

I will be bring my car to theshop to install:

264 cams
20G9LT
780cc
o2 housing
head studs
exhaust mani
new FMIC

I will need another tune. I think I will be bringing in my car after next week. what is your schedule like?
