My experience with "THE SHOP & DYNOFLASH"

My name is Arthur and I own a 2006 EVO IX MR. It all started when I was reading the EVO forums a few months ago and was still an STi owner at that time. I was very quickly impressed by with the EVO.

Over the years I have dealt with a few shops and I wont mention any names but I almost always have had a bad experience. Once again when I walked into "THE SHOP" I was still a bit skeptical. I have always got the impression that they just want my MONEY when dealing with other shops, but not in this case. Jimmy (who is the owner of THE SHOP) is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. He will do everything possible to satisfy a customer, not only me... but other customers he encountered the couple of times I was in there shop.

As far as prices go, many shops always fluctuate and inflate the prices on labor when it comes to STi,EVO's,SRT4 and etc. THE SHOP's price are very fair, and they where completely honest.

The mechanics are very neat and very knowledgable! I took a friend of mine who has owned an EVO since 2003 with me the first time to perform the following mods :cams,fp,intake, full exhaust and meth injection. After a few hours , he came up to me and whispered in my ear "dude ,these guys really do good work" .

And now on to DYNOFLASH. Al is a very funny guy (funny looking too , JK) when the time came, and the work was performed to my car, we straped it onto the dyno and Al went to work! It took Al a couple of pulls , and we where making serious power! I wanted an aggressive tune with higher boost levels (since I am running 100% methanol) Al pulled me over to the side and advised that the car was maxed out, and that anymore tweaking would not be safe for the engine. Al genuinely cares about his customers and I can gaurentee I will not not be getting tuned by anyone else.

On C16/light spray of methanol and a 36Psi spike the car made 416 AWHP/ 482tq
The mods are :

HKS Suction Intake
Invidia 3" o2 Housing
DC Downpipe with cat delete
TurboXS exhaust
Cosworth Cams
ARP Headstuds
FORGE UNOS boost controller
FORGE BOV
WALBORO FP
BR LICP

Not going to talk for Al, but its realy at your own risk when have that high of boost, for stock block. it all depends how you are. if your a true racer and only run car when run at track for drag then yes maybe nice. but for anything else no point. unless you just cant help your self and want high boost all the time like some people lol

again very nice numbers!! and now im getting more ideas.

i can see him making it, i know on my evo8 we hit 37 one night, but then again two diff kind of turbos, and his is bigger so 36psi i think it can handle it better then a evo8 turbo. but i wonder what it was at red line.

36 PSi was on C16/meth. I daily drive the car with 26 PSi and pump gas. On C16 , the a/f's where straight as an arrow.

You gotta remember , guy's are running around with GT35r's w/ 35PSI on stock blocks. It all depends on the tune. As long as you don't lean out, your pretty much good for some time, depending on how you drive as well.

Even with 28psi, the car is a beast, and I have no need to run it with C16 just yet.
