Dynoflash Question

Hey Al, This is Will. I sent the 2 2003 Evo 8 ECU's in at the same time for flashing. I have a question on my flash (EVO ECU #2). I finally have the car running and idleing on its own (cam timing issue) and I now have the injectors "clacking" really loudly. I narrowed it to the injectors by ways of the stehiscope (IDK how to spell it) and by quickly unplugging one and plugging it back in. ("clacking" noise lessened when unplugged) Are they suppose to be so loud? Also I noticed that when at idle, my timing advace is 15 degrees, when the revs are raised quickly, timing jumps to 37 degrees, is it suppose to be that high? (I am using Mitsubishi's MUT2 to pull the timing information) I am sorry if this are kinda newbie questions, but I am in uncharted territory when it comes to ECU flashing and want to get someone who knows it well. Thank you for your help.

What kind of injectors do you have in there - if one is louder than the others that would be reason to suspect it

PS - in that case I would send them out to www.injector.com and have them tested

I have the factory ones still (I was going to go larger but you recomended that I wait untill my mods required it) It isnt just one injector but all of them. I don't remember them making the noise before the flash (I did most of the mods at the same time as the flash) The car runs great arround town. Do you think running injector cleaner through them would help?

Sebastian,

Good luck, Al will take care of you. Just a tip, try advertizing your car on 3si.org

Megan Racing 3ing catalytic converter delete with resonator,
Walbro 255lp fuel pump,
ARP head studs & connecting rod bolts,

And of course I have your flash. I also noticed today when driving arround town that the car is maxing boost pressure at 15 psi, is that because your tuned for a MBC and I have not put it in or something else?

I would and have tried. But the problem is that the site requires you to have all of your personal information listed in your sig before you can post in the sale section. (Even though my car is listed on a verified car sales site) Also people on there really dont appreciate the car like it sould. They believe my car is only worth 5-6k even thought it is in prestine condition.

Hey Al, another question. Does your tune change the Baro settings or anything? I think I am onto something if not.

My issues: extremely loud injectors, possible high timing, hard start, max PSI 12
Diag performed: pressure test- no leaks, injector cleaner, rechecking of cam/crank timing, changed fuel stations, replaced vac lines and MBC.

What else am I missing? Help from anyone would be great!

Well, I went to injector.com and used the injector calculator. according to the formula I have too small of injectors. Using an estimated 300hp, bsfc of .6, 4 injectors, using a duty cycle of .8, I get 590.62cc's.

Update. I purchased 780cc injectors, waiting for the 27th to install (have a custom tune date then) My timing is really high still (44+ degrees in the higher rpm range) Hopefully Topspeed can tell me what is happening. I am also installing a wideband and stainless manifold next week.
