Smart Car turbo ?

I have my heart set on a new project

I want to make an 11 second turbo Smart car

Is anyone else interested in these fascinating machines ?

I saw some driving around and the first thing that comes to my mind is that 1.0 L engine needing a small turbo and laying some rubber

Al I think thats a great idea, I'd love to see it happen. One thing though, you're a pretty big guy and just the thought of seeing you in one of those things makes me laugh. I really mean no disrespect so please dont be offended

Actually its a very safe car

They crashed one into a concrete divider at 70 mph and it fared very very well

My idea is to have a car which is light, fun to drive and good on gas for driving around town

We'll see - so far I cant even find one to buy they are all sold out

do you really think that in 11 second trim it would get decent gas mileage? What does it run stock a 20? There is just to much that would have to go into it to make it that fast. You would need to redesign the aero, suspension, build the motor ( or swap it or stroke it) turbo it, the money keeps adding up.

i just think that by the end of it you would be left with something that is slow, looks ugly, doesn't get good gas mileage, and has cost around the same amount as a cheap house.

That's pretty impressive! Too bad they didn't put a crash dummy in there.

would prolly get pretty good gas mileage off of boost. what ya gotta remember is that it would take A LOT less hp to get an 11 sec pass in that thing than what we're used to. if you could get the tires to hook up that is

First challenge is to get my hands on one - they are all sold out in my area

if you are serious about it, pull the motor and replace with a bike motor
