I have a technical question for you. I have been hearing a rattling noise from under the car usually when im going really slow or the car is in reverse. i had my friend look under the car while i slowly reversed and he noticed the drive shaft was shaking up and down while the rear diff. moved up or down when i backed up the car. I dont think the rear diff. is damaged because it isnt making any whinning noises but the drive shaft is rattling.

What is the problem in your opinion and do you think mitsubishi will cover this in case it is the differential or drive shaft? Will they give me a hard time since my car is modded and tuned?

 

In most cases you are advised to return your car to stock before you make a warranty claim or your warranty may be voided

It seems as if your rear diff is grabbing, it may be prudent to drain the fluid and inspect the unit

Just as you said al, they wont repair the rear diff. under warranty because they noticed my car is modded. But here is the funny part, they said because my car has an exhaust and BLOW OFF VALVE!!!! What does a bov have to do with my drivetrain?

im going to have to repair it with my friend who is a mechanic but he doesnt know what to look for once he drains the fluid. Can you just tell me to tell him what to do?
