Dynoflash and Buschur review
I received my flashed ECU back from AL today. Last week I had Buschur install the following: Turboback 3" exhaust w/ magnaflow muffler and HF cat, MBC, Buschur filter, mini battery kit, and upper IC pipe.
First off, the Buschur guys were great! Their install was top notch and no problems with fitment, leaks, CELs, etc. Well worth it for me to have them do it to avoid future headaches. I got the EVO home on Friday, pulled out the ECU (15minutes cause I'm a noob), and shipped it out. Received it right on schedule today and immediately installed it (10 minutes this time).
The first thing you notice is how smooth your EVO starts and idles, much better than stock. The second is when you put it into gear and release the clutch for the first time. What a difference! Much better driveability with this flash, no more cold start blues for me. I had the MBC set at 15 psi so it took a couple test runs to get it honed in. Al suggested 20.5 psi, I have it just above 20 right now. I'm no expert, but I see very little if any boost taper from 4500 to 7000 rpm. This thing is a BEAST!
I didn't really believe the other posts on the difference until you experience it yourself. Spools up much faster now and pulls through the top end all the way. The best part is the amount of low end torque, it's downright scary. I can't wait to get out and drive tomorrow.
Another benefit that I expect that isn't usually addressed here is the increased gas mileage. Just from the Buschur parts install, I increase my mpg from 23 to 27. With the flash, I expect even more. Since I drive 50K miles a year, this is a savings of over $1000 (Just a little something to think about when trying to justify your $$ on mods
).
Sorry for the long post. I'll dyno later this spring when someone up here in MN actually gets a 4 wheel dyno. Thanks to Al and Buschur Racing. You guys have a lifelong customer here!
