New 1/4 mile attack weapon ! Killer part
Hey guys - I am on the hunt to break my 1/4 mile record and I am looking at all angles to find power where ever I can
My goal is to get my car fast enough to roll in off the street with full interior and my McIntosh and bust out a high 10 second or low 11 second time slip, I am getting very close to that with my runs last week - two at 11.7
Here is my latest upgrade - wanted to share this with you guys - its a really nice piece
http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/pro...CatalogueID=98
I am hoping this sucker can get me another 20 - 30 whp - Magnus is saying it can do that and more
I have it in my hands - its a wonderful unit - and I highly recomend it for the price

It has fittings on the back for pipe thread nipples for vacume - all factory sesnors can be eaily accomidated as there are four ports
I was told this is the unit that the RRE evo was using that was making over 500 whp on the stock engine
IF RRE is usuing it - thats endorsement enough for me as RRE knows what they are doing
I am going to try this unit and see ho wit fits and how it works
I have heard lots about Magnus and want to try their design

Not trying to be start a war, but why did your times fall some? Is it due to your ditching the nitrous? I am not much of a fan of the bottle either so I don't blame you, I was just curious. Still pretty damn fast though. Were you running pump or high octane?

Its hard to go fast without NOS when you can only run 1.7 bars of boost ! I am getting terible misfire issues and no tech support what so ever - they don;t even return my calls !

Al, any chances you will go to a taller gear (4.11) to stay in 4th? They are available across the water. Or possibly a shorter wheel/tire combo to get into 5th? I suppose you could change the trans gear sets to get the desired rpm/mph if someone offered them.

Dan from Pruven ran MY car at 11.63 with that set up and full interior and no nos at 22 psi
I ran my car a week later with the reflashed ecu and piggy back and ran a 11.62 on NOS
Its my feeling that the reflash is good for 450 to the wheels max on a upgraded turbo and a mid 11 second time slip
After the Buschur turbo kits com out we will start seeing some of those Dyno Flash results
IMHO - anyone seeking lower than a mid-11 second pass needs to consider a stand alone ecu of some sort.
I have been playing with these PNP type units - the autronic and the AEM - and they are decent. However, its my position that what we really need to use at this point is a FULL stand alone like the HALTEC, MOTEC, MIRCOTEC, etc etc.
The best applications fo rthe Dyno Flash are mildly modified cars with just a exhuast, intake and possibly cams - those cars have all the driveability and feel of stock and make very good performance gains
Anyone trying to make 600 whp in a 2.0 L 4 cyl car is going to start to have some "issues" - like the ones I am having

I am sure that eventualy there will be modified 4th gears for more trap speed in 4th
My WRX/STI was the record holder for some time and still one of the fastest WRX's in the 1/4 mile for trap speed on street tires at 11.88 @ 124 mph and that car almost required me to shift to 6th !!!!!
