Got ignition troubles - looking for a plug in improvement ? HKS powa !
Thanks to goldenchild for recomending this fine unit
Its a total plug n play ingition upgrade solution from HKS
It has the complete harness to just bolt into the evo
http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=840
I am headed to the dyno later today to test it out on a few evos and see what power if any it can make on a stock evo
I also will be testing it on my evo to see if it can help the nightmasrish AEM EMS ignition misfires
If this don;t work on my car then its time for a MSD ignition - but this HKS set up is so neat - so nice and so easy its like a 2 min install
Lets hope it works!
Remember - at Dyno Flash - we spend the hard earned $ to buy all the products - test them on the dyno - and THEN we tell you what works and what dosn't work. We don't SELL any parts whnat so ever - only our Dyno Flash - so we have no profit motivation to hawk parts that do not work well. IF IT works well we'll tell you

However - this is something I got a hold of thanks to golden child as a band aide in the meantime
Lets hop it helps a little bit
I am testing it in about two hours

Drove over to the dyno shop - Pruven - with it on a customer's car that has 18,000 plus miles
Before I installed this I noticed some mising up top and weakness on the high end - I was going to recomend a new set up plugs to the customer
With the ignition installed - the car was running much stonger and smoother - a definite 10 whp gain I am sure
Now I am going to tune another evo on the dyno and when the tune is done I will test the HKS ignition A - B to see what gains or losses we see

Anyone aware of who might have one of these in stock? I'm on a building frenzy and its one of the remaining components I planned on getting (A sheetmetal intake being the other)

Goldenchld - thanks for the heads up on this and the info !
Here is what this sucker does . . .
before and after - it took 7 minutes to pop it in and then LOOK at the power and low end trq gains
this unit is a winner !!!! and so easy to install a child could do it
BTW - not a bad showing for the Dyno Flash either - all this car had was a boost controller, cat back and a drop in filter and its making 291 ft lbs to the wheels on pump gas !
