Yes I am tuning it - I di one already - very easy t learn if you did the WRX utec

Its a great unit - vastly suerior to other piggy back solutiuons

Its good if you want to be able to play around yourself - it works very well

We are also selling the Uflash for $79.99 whoch works in conjucntion with the UTEC to remove the fuel limiter, rev limit and smooth out the fuel curves for easier tuning

Its a nice product - however there is no performance advantage over a reflash, the sole advantage is the tunability which can be a blessing or a curse

The only bad thing I have found is that the ign timing control requires you to default to UTEC knock control which IMHO can be a dangerous thing compared to the uncanny stock knock sensor

Agsin in certain applications control ove the factory knock may be desired - however - IMHO - I would prefer to leave the facstory ecu knock protection function FULLY intact and operational. We are able to get very decent results and smooth power with that knock function 100% in full force. IMHO - its going to be hard to 2nd guess on the knock retard settings that they have on the stock ecu

Thats the plan.. If it wasn't for the frequency that i change things around, and make adjustments, I would have to say the DynoFlash would have been my preferred choice.. I've already changed my configuration 3 times in the past year requiring completely different tuning..

IMHO - the best possible set up would be a custom Dyno Flash running the day to day pump gas operation and the UTEC tuned with a c-16 race gas map ready to dial in at the turn of a switch

A slightly lower cost senario would be the through the mail flash - fine adjusted with the UTEC - but with the Dyno flash ignition control, mainating the stock knock operation, on pump gas - - and then a wild C-16 race map on the utec for the track

Sure its a bit more costly - but you would get all the reliability, smoothness and protection of the stock ecu and also the ability to get max performance at the turn of a switch

Us evo guys are very lucky as there are many ecu tuning options availble right off the bat - where as with my WRX there was very limited tuning options for well over the first year

With only limited evo numbers in the usa - soon there will be more ecu options than cars!!!!!

UTEC is one of my favorites - but it is geared towards a more "hands on" owner who is embarking on an educational path to discover how to tune the car - - that can be a lot of fun or a real nightmare depending on your perference
