MBC Question
MBC Question
Can I install a MBC before my custom tune and NOT install a boost gauge?
Im kinda short on money and I was wondering if Als testing eqpt will read the boost.
Sorry if this is a dumb question.

It's not a good idea, even if it were set up properly using outside test equipment, temperature and humidity will affect boost on an MBC. For instance, if you tune it to hold 20 psi when it's hot, you might find that it's seriously overboosting when the temps drop... which is not a good thing. My autometer boost gauge was fifty bucks.. not too much at all.

when i installed my MBC it came set at 14 lbs just new this after installing it and running the car. took 4 runs to get it adjusted to 19. one run it went to 21. so it was not just 1 turn per lb as the instructions said. with out the guage you have no idea of what you are doing. just doesnt make since. its like asking big AL just tune me i may get mods later. you have to know some basic info. enjoy.
