Estimated WHP after Dynoflash?

My EVO is bone stock. I will be getting the mail flash and a fuel pump upgrade. What is the estimated WHP gained with this mod.

Also by having the fuel pump done is it more power than w/o it?

Dynoflash has posted that he will be offline for a few days, but
to answer your question it is like 25-30 extra hp.I would recommend having a k&n drop-in installed before doing it as you could gain a few extra hp ofr just the 65-70 dollar investment.
You will be very, very, very happy either way you go when you get Dynoflashed,as it will wake your car right up

Brian..

Flashing your ECU can be an all-out nightmare... I used to work with Ecu-Tek and Team Subaru USA/Renick in terms of developing the perfection of flashing an ECU over almost 4 years ago...

Ever try smogging a flashed ECU Brian? Self de-tuning of the re-falsh is also vey common in software like Utek and EcuTek. In California, your best bet is either S-AFC-II, or the ultimate AEM EMS.

I thought you are getting street tuned in L.A.? The mail in flash will not give you 25 WHP, more like 10 to 15. A custom tune would yield more HP though, especially in conjunction with mods. I agree with getting the K&N filter.

I can't see a stock Evo needing a fuel pump upgrade. Al said it's a good idea for modded Evos, but stock with just a flash is a waste IMO.

Also, Rubelcon, I don't see how our Dynoflashes with be a problem with a smog check. In fact, they run cleaner after the tune. Al has tuned hundreds w/o incident. The self de-tune I heard is not a problem with the Evo ECU, unlike Subaru.

wow

Ok,

I forgot to put I am getting the KN filter.

I am very confused now. AL said the fuel pump upgrade was cheap insurance on ANY car. I live in central Caliifornia now and for 3 months out of the year the avg. temp is 100-105 every day. After AL said the heat really puts a strain on the fuel pump. I was worried.
I do not race my car at all, I just get on it every once in a while.

As far as problems re-flashing, I havent heard of any out there. Can anyone help me with the cenario???

All I want is for my car to run a little better and be a little faster without messing w/ the warranty.

So any other people out there think I SHOULDNT get the fuel pump upgrade with a basic flash and a stock EVO??????

ahhhhhhh..............help

Serious problems on the homefront, cant afford the street tune. I can only afford to pay the diff for basic flash

These type of issues are all too common with Slowbaru reflashing - thats why i do not deal with Subarus

Just FYI - we have conducted month long repeatability testing on evos with our reflash and once it is properly set it will NOT change the tune at ALL

I don't use Utek or Ecutek for the very resons you have explained - best regards

Remembver - Subaru spelled back wards is U R A BUS

if you plan on modding the car, do the fuel pump upgrade, if not just stick with the flash

Ok, now I feel much better.

I guess I need to decide if I will be adding mods in the future and that will depend on the pump. Most likely I will do it cause of the extreme temps in my area and like AL said "cheap insurance"

Don't get me wrong, the fuel pump is cheap insurance, especially with high summer heat. But I remember Al telling me I most likely don't need the pump with just the mail in flash and no other mods. I have since got a 3" catback and intake filter and planning boost control, so I will now upgrade the pump. In fact, I just received it in the mail today, but will wait to install it.

As for the flash de-tuning itself, that's B.S. My car has been flashed since last October and have not felt any change. It feels better than stock and still does. And I will pass smog any time I want.

BTW- How did you like you mail in Dynoflash? Did you enjoy driving it more than before the flash?

How is your boost taper w/o a boost controller?

Love the mail in flash. It was like the car "woke up". This is the best $200 you can spend on your Evo IMO. The boost holds steady in third, fourth and fifth, but it still tapers somewhat in first and second as is expected. I still will add a controller, but it's fine for now.

BTW, I have your billet caps on my car. Looks great.

its hard to tell if it hold in 4th or 5th cuz redlineing in 4th is about 120 mph and 5th is well.. 160+mph. I dont think u should be staring at ur boost guage at those speeds.

Ha, yeah. I can only assume it holds till redline, but flooring it in fourth and fifth holds boost till i back off. Only been to about 110 or so. i just installed a second boost gauge due to the stock crappy gauge. Well, it reads correctly, but very small. The two gauges are consistent with each other which is good. But the new one reads PSI and is on the A pillar for easy viewing.
