From: 2003 Evo VIII - Silver
There are no "conipiracy theories " I meet those AMS guys at a couple4 of DSM races last year - they seemed real nice so I planned a rtrip here when I cameto Chicago to see their shop and get som ideas

I needed to get my exhuast manifold repaired an they offered to give me a service bay
When I was the deign of thier FMIC - it was the 1rst time I saw on on a car - I wanted on on bought it
WHEN i foind good parts or agood shop - I post up about it - - I am tired of all these negative acusations - with the $$ I have dumped into my car you can be sure I would not atach ANY peice on to it unless it was 100% the best you can get
As far as th AEM tuning by martin - you are welcome to stop by the evo meet tonight and see how well my car is starting up an idels
Nice dyno sheeet you have there - I don;pt know what that proves ?

Thanks

Hey AL...what FMIC did you have and what are you going to do with it now? Maybe some of the members here would be interested in buying it? I know myself I am looking at the Buschur or the Pruven one....I like the whole large FMIC look....but it's got to be functional. I know the AMS one works, and works WELL, it just doesn't suit my "looks" needs. I would go that way if I can't find a FMIC that doesn't work as well if not better then the AMS...but for now....it's Buschur or Pruven at this time.

I seem to recall tests being done on the Pruven IC and it didn't gain all that much on the dyno, something having to do with end tank design or something like that.

Empirical data's on the Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain forum regarding sustained dyno pulls with the BR FMIC, to the effect that it's a damn good intercooler. I like mine and after driving around hard for a while and popping the hood, the IC pipe going to the throttle body is cooler than the body panels, so something must be working.

LOL yeah that's what I hear too. Buschur seems to be leading the pack. I heard rumors about the Pruven one not being too efficent...so that's why I am keeping my options open.

Thanks for the info!

dragon, if you are looking for a slightly used pruven intercooler with the necessary hardware (smaller radiator fan, etc...) mark at quantum-racing.com is selling his for $800 not sure if that includes shipping, it comes with all the necessary hardware and if you come to him he will installl it with you at no cost!!!!!!!!!!!

call him at 614-644-8427, tell him you heard about it through jr hecker on evom.net

I apprecaite that...but I am at the moment not looking to replace my factory one. I dumped enough money into the EVO for this year so far! LOL
