Well let's see...

I have been going back and forth for some time now, Dynoflash, XEDE, UTEC...couldn't make up my mind. Each has it's goods and bads. Talked to a bunch of people back and forth, and I came to a conclusion...gotta go with a flash! I just don't mod all the time and don't need the ability to continually change things on my car. Once a year is about it for me. So I bought a bunch of stuff for my car...got it all in except one 2 items. Had a hell of a time getting someone to help. It's now Wednesday, the 24th at 5:00pm Central, the AMS event is only 2 days away!!! Talked to AL about getting just a mail-in style at the AMS event in Arlington Heights. He was on the road (thought he was at home at first cuz he had his pup with him), answered his phone, and talked to me for a very long time. Because of my mods he didn't feel comfy with just doing a mail-in style. He wouldn't be happy and was 99% sure I woudln't be either. So he told me to get the last 2 of my mods done and give him a call for a street tune.
Now it's Thursday, the 25th...I just found someone to help me out and do what was needed done to my car , problem is it's on Friday...the AMS event day! I dropped my car off at 7:45am. I got my car back at 3:00pm. The Job is perfect , the guy helped me out BIG time by putting someone else off for me just to gain the business of not only me...but the Car Club I represent and the numerous other Clubs I know in the area and even the Solo guys. He let me come back every few hours and take pics...sat with me and talked for a while and showed me his SCCA race car . He wants a recomendation from me....that of which he definately has won!
It's now 4:00pm, I call AL...he says swing down and we can talk...I say ok I will leave asap. It's now 5:30...I'm waiting for my girlfriend to show, she's running late. She lives 20 minutes from AMS...I said I would meet you there ...she said she wants to ride in my EVO so she will come to my place...making us later ....she loves my car....I think more then me! She showed....we left...fast! I was hauling @$$ to AMS to hang out and meet everyone and talk to AL face to face. He's really busy....I mean REALLY busy. Guys are all over the place and AMS is packed (nothing like Saturday from what I hear though). I see AL, and decide to suck it up and meet him face to face. I was worried, he seemed a bit cocky on the phone...I could be wrong ...he could just be in a hurry to get to us at AMS. I walk up...he get's out of a guys car and says hello....extends his hand. I go to shake his hand...phucker has a hell of a grip and I say Hi....I'm Derek! He says hello back and asks "who's this (next to me)?" "This is my girlfriend Jenn"....they shake hands...he says "Your gonna let him do this huh?" They chuckle....she's more into cars then I am...I explain that....AL's cool!!! I realize that what I thought was oringinaly cockyness....isn't....it's CONFIDANCE!!! We chit chat and I over hear conversations that he is in.....he knows and he is definately not cocky. Unfortunately we had to go...he didn't have time to talk because we had to leave for a meeting, our fault. He said call him tomorrow....I said I will.
It's 9:00am Saturday, I call...get Voice Mail...he's busy already! . I call back later, can't remember the time. He answers...busy again...he said call back at 10:00pm. It's 9:30...I can't wait...I call, Nextel sucks, they couldn't find him! I call back at 10:00pm...he's trying to finish a car...he says he will call me back soon to try and get me in....but he's exhausted and wants to go home. It was 10:30pm, Saturday, Al called me back and said...bust @$$ to get down there! So me and my friend and his brother fly...I'm a dumb @$$...I brought people with....sorry AL...wasn't thinking. I I leave at 10:40......get there at 11:11 (make a wish). He pulls in right after I do...it's 11:15pm. My friends show up 10 minutes later. Merkurs are slow even though they have a turbo! Al puts his stuff in my car....we go for a ride....my friends leave. Sorry friends...I wasn't thinking only 2 people per car...AL and the owner....bye bye!
Al works his magic for the next 2 hours! He talked to me the whole time. Thor (his puppy) took a tumble off my rear seat into the floor....he's ok....awesome pup! Loves people and is a cutie. We got chased off by an Illinois State Trooper ...but we didn't get rolled . We watched a race...Camero and a Vette....Vette almost lost....they were loud! . End of the night....it's now 1:30am. Al packs his stuff up. Makes sure I am happy and has me run my car for a quick test....I can't stop . I go to leave...he says...thank you. Why the ***** is he thanking me? I should be thanking him. It's almost 2:00am now. We've seen an 8 point buck and 3 other deer pass by us....thankfully they didn't cross the road and come into the street while we were driving! He stayed later then he wanted to...he tuned my car when he should be going home. He was gonna leave at 11:30pm. His dog almost got hurt and he almost got rolled for tuning my car!!! WTF IS HE THANKING ME???
Ohhhhh I got it...he said thank you because....I let him help me....I was happy...and he was allowed a chance to make someone smile. Thats all he cares about is making sure we, as a customer, are happy. (Please excuse me mods for I am about to swear) He wants to see that "**** eatin grin " on our face when we are either finally done...or that look of " we are gonna die" while he's ripping *** down the street smashing gears left and right....pushing our cars to the limit....making sure the tune is good.

Your an awesome guy....and it was a total pleasure meeting you. Your tune was awesome! I can't say enough!!! Hope to see you again at the DSM meet in Ohio this August!!! Till then....take care!

I am real happy you got it alltogether an we were able to get it all dialled in 100% the way I like to do it with the cam shaft equiped cars

I really thought your car was super smooth and pleasant to drive when we were done

i read your post's when you were looking for an installer,did they do a good job?, is he a friend of yours? can you recomended to us?
anyway i'll probably do cams next, and will be very helpfull haaving more options.

I had mine flashed right before Dragon had his done...For those that were there, lets keep my situation on the DL Al, sorry about that, but it worked out in the end after all...I am very pleased with my flash and can't believe how hard and smooth it pulls now...As you can tell, its been about 2 days since posting and its because I've been driving my car to its limits for 48 hours! Great job on the car Al, it was worth every minute I stayed!
