Hmm well what if I just decided on my own to charge the guy X amount of money for the Evo and in my mind I add about $100 or $200 for the ECU flash. If I've had this flash for months it's obviously pretty good and in working order not to mention what if I got a custom tune. I rather charge him directly for the work I did to it and have him pay me.. It's not only faster considering no ECU removal is needed but I also get more money out of it especially considering none of us have to pay for shipping. And like I posted before, who really would want to wait 3 days min. to get your ECU back just to drive the thing. If i bought an Evo I would want to drive it that same day and wouldn't mind paying the buyer for the Tune he put on it a few days or months back.

Firstly If I were to sell the car I would simply tell the next person, "By the way I've been dynoflash tuned enjoy it, I'm selling the car for this much I added 50$ or so more because of that tune." This way those 50$ goes directly in my pocket without all the shipping hassle and waiting for the ECU to come back. You guys are forgetting if someone was eager to get an Evo they won't want to wait 3 days for shipping to and from Dynoflash. I'm assuming if they ever needed more tunning that it would be there issue and let them contact AL directly.
Even if I was selling it back to the dealer, once it's in their hands that's their business. If they find out that the ECU has been tuned, they have the OBDII units to flash it themselves back to stock, problem solved.
That and 50$ for administrative cost and shipping.. "Administrative costs???? for what 1 minute of work.. Shipping a little unit isn't that much either.
Now I know you have a business and your thinking of making money, but unless you clarify a bit more I don't see this as a great idea but more of a scheme for you to get a cut out of 50$ that belong to me if I were to sell the Evo.

However - the original idea I started some time ago was to afford some residual value to the flash for those who may be on a budget and want to recover some of their costs
I charge $50 fee to cover the $24 - $28 fed ex charges for standard overnight insured return; costs of maintaining my office; costs of maintining flash equipment and computers and electric bill. Given the time involved in opening boxes - flashing and creating shipping lables and reflashing at $50 I am loosing not making anything. The $50 was my best estimate at my actual cost to do these.
Please note - I am the ONLY flash tuner to offer ANY resale program what so ever - so while not perfect its at least some benefot to the customer at a later date
To date - I think I have done 4 or 5 resales - most people keep the evos and keep their flashes

Just want to state I sold my flash for 140 not knowing there’s a $50 fee on both side. I had to refund the guy and pay the payapl fee and going though all the hassels for nothing. But in the end is the right thing to do.

why didn't you simply sell him the car and add 140$ or 200$ on top of it. Let that money go straight in your pocket and avoid all hassles. I'm sure the flash you had on the car already worked fine, and technically you bought it so it belongs to you. You are simply charging what you feel your Evo is worth + cost of flash. I don't know if it's just me.. and I applaud Al for coming up with new innovations.. but I don't really think I completely understand this program.
In either case. If I ever sell my own car.. I'm simply sell my flash with it by adding X amount to the total desired payment. I'll give my self my own flash re-sale value.

I think the main point of buying the reflash in the first place is the value it offers as an inexpensive and reliable tuning solution which yeilds significant power gains at a resonable price point
The resale program is just a additional feature which may have some utility to selcted users
It was never intended to be a major selling point of the product
For $199 I dont think you can find a better bang for your buck in the aftermarket and the 2 year proven reliability record of my product places it as one of the most reliable of its kind
If you can sell it for $100 after using it for a year or two - to me that is a good recovery
at least there is some recovery with my flash - unlike any other competative product

Ah, i see. So, sell your flash for 100 bucks, then pay 50 to you and 25 to ship it to you..gets you 25 bucks back. Def not worth it. But, i guess its better than nothing.
BTW, al, i sent you a PM a while back and never got a response.
