lagging

I got a question for ppl with base flashes. I got one done recently, and was wondering if anyone is having the lagging problem i have. It seems after I got the base flash that when I shift gears, it doesn't have the umph i did before the flash. I could squeek my tires when i shifted before but now its kinda slow to accel after i upshift. I watched my boost guage and it goes only down to 15psi from 19 so its not too much lost in boost. anyone know what it could be?

Sounds like a blown diverter valve.

my boost is spiking to 21 ish and going back to 18.5-19 ... some ppl say its normal. I'm going to try the mr divirter valve first and then after that i don't know what to do. I just don't know if this is normal anymore. I'll give u a call al after i get the diverter valve in ... in a week or two.

Did this problem start after I left ? When I test drove it it seemed wonderful

I would doubt the bov would go bad like that

I suspect a possible boost leak

Often the vac hose to the egr valves on the back if the intake manifold - drivers side pop off as they have no clamps - that would give you that slight lag and lower whp

Take a close look for vac leaks

That boost taper is normal on a car with the stock manifold, as long as it goes down to 18 or 19 and not much lower than that. What method of boost control do you use?

Like Al pointed out, check those vac lines and the diverter valve.

Good luck.

ams boost controller. i'm sure the diverter valve is tight but i will check the vac lines and allll lines tomorrow. Yes, this did happen after the flash but since i wasn't driving it i didn't know. but after a friend drove it, he mentioned it and i noticed he was right. =(

Ah - thats why i don't let anyone drive my car !

If I recall - when we tested your car the boost controller was not functioning very well

My recomendation is you try first a test to pressurize the intake system of the car to search for boost leaks

and second - try a different boost controller
