Do you need a reflash if you buy a walbro fuel pump?

I have to agree, it was simple.
I just waited till the night before Al came for a tuning session, and did the install. Its not worth driving around all the time without being tuned. It will run way rich up top, and my butt-dyno did not like.

yeah...my butt dyno does not like it either but i would rather run rich than worrying about BOOM...since now i am over 300whp

i have been waiting cause i have some new stuff coming in next week and i wanted to wait for a custom flash

I agree - which is why this thread has the title it does.
The whole question was originally based on the premise that the car was already tuned, then the pump was installed.
I'm not sure if the question ever came up as to what happens if a bone stock car gets a pump.
Only an stock car that was already flashed.

The doubting about what the pump did or did not do was tied to the fact that the Walbro "effect" was
only going to be seen on heavily modded cars.
The rebuttal to that was that the "effect" can still be seen on lightly modded or even non-modded cars.
But I think this would have to only apply to cars that have had the A/F tuned.
I don't think anyone would dispute the fact that a factory fresh car would see not difference (faulty stock pump excepted).
In fact, given the factory A/F, it is almost guaranteed. And your dyno chart proves that.

Question for the readers:
If the whole issue is based on the fact that the Walbro puts out more pressure, wouldn't
someone with a fuel pressure guage be able to tell us the difference in pressure levels before and after a pump ??
Is there someone out there that can take readings at various rpms before and after ???

Thanks for posting this Ludikraut It seems that those with modified ECUs are more at risk of upsetting their fueling by just upgrading their fuel pump. Unfortunately, I've not been able to dyno mine before and after, so appreciate your posting.
