Dynoflash and P0300

Al,

I got your Dynoflash mail-in this past April and I just recently started throwing P0300 codes. I have not added or subtracted any mods, so I'm scratching my head on this one. I think it might be the gas, since when I fill up at Chevron I dont get any CELs.

Anyhow, my first question was regarding the flash "fix" from for the P0300 ...

***If I have you reflash my ECU to my Dynoflash settings after they "fix" the ECU, will their "fix" still remain intact?***

***Also, if I do end up having to mail my ECU back to you to get my Dynoflash back, can I get an upgrade at the same time? ***

I have a few mods here that I want to install - a MBC and Walbro 255.

Thanks,
Doug

My advice is to just ignore the 0300 codes unless they are very very frequent

I have seen them go off on cars I was driving it had no effect on the operation of the vehicle what so ever

As far a sthe Mitsubishi 0300 code fix flash - I have not yet had the opportuninty to see what if any effects it will have on my flash

When and if you are going to get it done let me know and I will be happy to work out the details with you

Al,

I'm bumping this one back to the top.

I had a question about the P0300. I've had a few more codes thrown and my friend who is a tech at tried reflashing my ECU with the "p0300 fix" with no luck. He said his equipment was not up to date with the current data and said that is probably why my ECU would not reflash. I also talked with another tech from a different dealership and he stated that a modified ECU would not reflash.

Have you heard of any successful instances of a Dynoflashed ECU getting the "p0300 fix" from ?

Thanks,
Doug

Al, if you remember, I had a dealer accidently reflash my ecu in vegas to correct the 0300 code, wiping out my ECU.....saddest day since I got my Evo. So I assume if a dealer tries the fix, it will change it back to stock.

Naucrx- the dealer in vegas told me that I was throwing the code because of sh!tty NM/AZ gas. Had my evo custom tuned in D.C., put 10K miles on it no problems. Tried to drive from Texas to Vegas, threw the code in Albq, NM, Hobbs and Flagstaff. My advice, waitand ignore the code, buy mods, then when all done, let Al upgrade. I did that to a point, to keep me happy thru the winter - next spring I am going to go buck-wild and drive up to Pruven to get customed.

Yeah, I had a feeling it was probably the ****ty gas too. I threw the code once with Mobil 91, and twice more with FlyingJ 91.

However, since the first 3 times I threw the P0300 code I have been using nothing but Chevron 91. Everything was fine and dandy until this past week when I threw 2 P0300 codes on my way to work one morning.

Al,

I just gave you a buzz, but I got your voicemail and left a message. I'm starting to get chronic P0300 now.

Later,
Doug

I'll return your car later - i'm on the dyno now. However it seems that you will need to send in your ecu for the 0300 code update flash.

I thnk you'll be best served to just send in your ecu so we can add the 0300 code into your Dyno Flash and see if the code can resolve the problem you are having - the update is free

I don't want to thread jack, but if I go on a road trip, is there any fuel additives I could buy and keep with me and add them at fill ups? Any recommended brands found at Autozone?

I don't want this problem just in case I am stranded with only $hitty gas available.

How much more ****ty can it get from that 91 you guys have out there ?

BTW - one time I drove my old '91 M5 with Dinan chip to Alcapoloco Mexico and I used two cans 104 octane boost per tank of 89 octane they sell imn Mexico - at that time they had nothing better. It worked out fine

Al,

I actually wanted to get my ECU flashed back to stock, that's why I wanted to talk to you. If you want to talk to me about it, please call me at work, toll free 1-800-423-7675, extension 2667.

Otherwise, I plan on sending in my ECU tomorrow so you should get it Friday morning.

Thanks,
Doug

P0300 always comes up once in a while. I just check if the car is fine if it boosts up to 21 psi, no boost spikes, boost surges. Isnt it that out exhaust is noisy and it throws a code??
