Buschur Racing BR5800 and BR500 turbo kits

Guys - there have been some discussions of the BR turbo kits in the turbo drivetrain and drag racing sections of the forums which I am unable to respond to

This thread in particular is one that I would like to address

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...94#post1065294

I have driven a BR580 turbo kit which I custom tuned with a reflash at 20 psi

The kit was installed on a Buschur Stage IV car

On the Buschur Stage IV car the BR580 turbo had very little lag and was well into full boost in the 4,000 rpms range

On the car with the right parts - the BR580 turbo kit was very enjoyable and not to laggy to drive - and that was with the reflash. The customer wanted more whp on pump gas so he sawpped out to a AEM and from what i heard lag is noit an issue at all.

I did another customer last week who installed a BR500 kit in a car with many stock parts - e.g. fmic pipe kit - bad bov - stock fmic - etc etc etc - and that car had even wrose lag than the BR580 turbo

My point - DO NOT consider the BR 500 or the BR 580 unless you have ALL the supporting mods to go with it - without the right parts working with the turbo you are going to get more turbo lag and not have the higher rpm head and bottom end to really appreciate a high whp turbo

IF you have a stage 3 or a stage 2 I would seriously consider the BR440 turbo which my webmaster and helper Aaron has on his car and he reports zero lag issues

I agree with you on that it doesnt appear to be a turbo problem at all.. I gave him a few things to check out..

Thanks

People do not realize that with big turbos the tuning is very important to minimize the lag.

The whole concept of the Buschur Racing staged upgrade path is to afford the end user a well thought out package what works together without any hassels

When you start doing a lot of mix and match of various parts then often you have to to some trial and error to get a well balanced kit that works well together

I would suggest a complete Buschur stage four with the buschur head work

Robert Fuller has that set up on his car and apparnetly there is zero lag issues

I agree too. It seems that this turbo kit needs some serious parts along with it to make it right.

Keep in mind Daryl Hudson is the #6 of all time fastest AWD DSM with the BR580 turbo - its a 9 second capable turbo

To me it makes little sense to be having a tubro like that one with a stock block and heads

I am recoemending the BR440 which gives you lots more power without any lag and will work even on stock evos

I talked you out of the 440 kit becuase i thought you were HARD CORE and wanting to boost the heck out of your car and make some serious whp!!!!

Soon we will have the right parts on your car and we will see how the spool up fares

Just for information your car was spooling almost 1,000 rpms slower than the BR580 turbo we had on the same dyno which had the full BR stage 4 kit

well i guess i started a sh!tstorm here. i would fist like to appologize for my poor choice in wording for the title of that post, "problems w/ br580." I know that the kit rocks, i just got a bit worried when i saw a 6k spool. I am in the process of tracking down the bugs. I don't believe that anyone has the evo mod process perfected yet. it's too new, and there is still way too much r&d to be done. i'm just trying to find out what works for me. sure, i could've called company x, and said "send me the same thing that you're sending 100 other guys", but i'm testing it out for myself, and will replace parts as i need to. just trying to make power guys. not trying to **** in anyones cereal.
take care,
jeremy

I really think that the EVO should have 10,000 rpm limiter
