Hallman MBC doesn't hold boost?

I just installed it this morning. I hooked it up this way:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...chmentid=21291

I had 30minutes to do a few runs before work, and I set it at 19.5psi. However, at around 6000-6500rpms, it drops 2psi. I'm gonna do a few more runs tonight to see if there really is a trend, but is there something I'm doing wrong that it's not holding? I've heard a lot of people claiming they hold solid to redline. I'm stock by the way, other than this mbc.

Are you sure it's not your BOV leaking?

Yup...the stock BOV leaks like a **** above 19 PSI...get an aftermarket BOV...my Hallman holds 20.5 PSI all the way up, solid as a rock...

Please call me anytime at 203-515-4110 - it seems you do not have the boost controller set up properly

Are you saying that diagram he posted is wrong? Because thats how I have it set up as well. Mine spikes and holds at 20psi then drops to 19psi at around 5500 and holds there.

Is it better to input the boost from the compressor nipple rather than the BOV? I might try that and see what happends.

I greaty prefer hooking the supply hose to the boost controller directly to the turbo. ASSUMING that this is one of the Hallman pros we sell.

On most evos the boost should hold steady to the end dropping only maybe one psi

If the boost is falling further than that (with the Hallman Pro) I would suspect a boost leak

Al, I gave you a call tonight and left a message. I did a few more runs tonight and it is going from 1.35-1.22hkPa (19.6-17.7psi). It seems to not be too consistent either, but the majority of the times, it will fall 2psi.

Yes, I bought the Hallman Pro from your store. So what you're saying is take the hose from the side of the mbc and route it to the turbo nipple (I have it going to the wastegate actuator nipple)? And then take the hose from the bottom of the mbc and route it to the BOV line?

No, keep the hose to the wastegate actuator connected. You will need a source of boost, Al is suggesting using the turbo compressor nipple as a source of boost RATHER than the BOV line.

I think I'll try that as well to see if the boost spike changes. It wouldn't hurt to do a pressure test for leaks though.

I'll probably have to do this next weekend. I wish I had known that before. Takes me like 30minutes to jack up the car and take off the bottom plastic panels .

My boost doesnt' really spike. It holds steady til about 6000rpms. Then it slowly drops. Then at 6500, it drops a chunk.

It seemed like yours went from 20-19psi, and then 21-19psi in the higher gears.
