Spike to 21.7 PSI, hold at 20 PSI, then drop to about 19 PSI in the high rpms.

If that question is directed at me...you'll have to ask my girlfriend what head mods I have Seriously, I don't have any head mods. The DynoFlash raised my rev limiter and I was shifting around 7300rpms or so

There is something that I want to clarfiy here

If your boost hits a steady number - holds steady and then gradually tapers slightly towards the red line by 1 - 1.5 psi - thats NORMAL - the slight taper is due to the small turbo on the Evo

If your boost is jumping all over the place and falls down like 2 - 4 psi thats a poor boost controller

The Hallman pro works great and holds a very steady boost - BUT its not going to give you a steady boost numnber to red line like youi can get for example with a upgraded giant turbo

I am using stock BOV and Buschur MBC. I had it installed by Ryan at RNR and it is not using the BOV line as a boost source. It used to hold arounf 19psi in lower gears and almost 20 in higher gears. I turned it up almost half a rotain(180 degrees) and it only went up about .75psi. Should it have gone up more and I just didn't turn it enough or is this a sign that the stock BOV is leaking the extra and I may be at risk ov overboosting the turbo?

Thanx for the help guys,
Guack

Alright, I got time tomorrow morning to reinstall my Hallman pro and use the turbo nipple instead of the bov line. I'll report back what it did. I'll re-tighten my clamps at the same time.

Dude, its installed incorrectly. Wastegats never sees vaccum! Therefor, it always has to be hooked up by the turbo nipple that only sees boost and never vaccum. This is because its before the throttle body.

I finally got a chance today to reinstall the line into the turbo nipple (vs the bov line). I drove it for about a good 45minutes to test things out, and it still drops 2psi by redline. I don't think it's the bov leaking, cuz it still lost boost after I reset the controller to 11psi. Readings are identical to when I had the line teeing off the BOV line. I'm beginning to think it's my car now. It's been stock up until now. I may have to take it into a shop to get some compression/turbo leak tests.

or...is it because I have a digital boost gauge and can read my readings more precisely, vs analog gauges (where the nick marks are pretty close together)? and those who have analog gauges "think" they are holding boost to redline.

I'm seeing a few more other people saying that their Hallman Pro's are not holding solid (or dropping only 1psi) at redline. Those that are losing boost (1.5psi or more) at redline, can I ask you to do something? Turn it down as low as it will go (11psi, give or take) and see if it still loses boost at redline. I have a hard time believing it is the stock bov leaking, since mine still loses boost at 11psi. I've tightened my clamps many times already.

Lightbulb MBC Diagrams

Hey, I just came across this thread and want to make sure I understand. I have a Buschur MBC and installed it based on the diagram posted earlier in this thread. Basically the pressure source is from the BOV line (see MBC2.gif, "BOV Tee Installation" diagram). What I understand Al is suggesting is to use the turbo nipple for the pressure source (see MBC1.gif, "Turbo Nipple Installation" diagram).

I hope these diagrams are helpful, I'm doing them from memory while at work. :-) Let me know if I got them right.

EDIT -- Oops, put "vacuum" where I meant "pressure".
