Thumbs up Got my stock evo dynoflashed...

Drove down to Pruven yesterday to have them take take a look at my evo. I originally emailed Al months ago about my problems. When I first got the car, after breakin, it felt pretty strong for stock. Soon after I installed a JIC catback, and immediately lost a ****load of power, not to mention the low range torque. I found that the flange at the cat was defective, after many attempts to get it to make a good seal. It leaked like a *****. At one point I put brand new hardware on it, and tried to tighten it with a breaker bar, and broke the bolts! I gave up, and got my money back. When I reinstalled the stock catback, I regained some of the lost low end, but the car still ran like ***. I have a boost gauge, and the car was hitting 18-19 psi, but it was sometimes fluctuating, and the car felt weak everywhere. Anyway, he told me to bring the car down and we'd figure it out. Here it is 6 months later I finally got around to it.
On the baseline run, the car layed down 213.7 hp , 247 tq. Right away they noticed it was WAY out of tune. The AFR's were off the charts rich, and the car was puking smoke out of the garage. Al went into the ECU to change some things, and said "If your car deosn't lay down between 230 and 240 hp with what I just did, something's really screwed and we'll have to start diagnostics."
I guess he knows his ****, because the next run was 238 hp! He gave me a big thumbs up, and went back to work on the ECU. After 3 more runs, we had 249 hp, 250.8 tq, and the curves were nice and smooth.
This isn't the half of it. The gains started at 3600rpm. From 5400rpm to redline, we gained no less than 30 whp with a 53 whp gain at 6200! and from 5500 on up, we gained no less than 35 ft lbs tq, with 45ft lb gains from 6400 on up. Needless to say I was happy. After driving the car, spool up isn't much improved, especially in first gear, will look into that later.
Next up is Buschur T-back, HKS suction kit, boost controller and reflash, hopefully for 300whp.
I also met some guys from here for the first time, TD05HR, and 8ASTI, and the guy with the ridiculous black evo, 3 cool sum*****es with very nice cars, and very nice dyno sheets. I'll let them tell their stories. I got the chance to ride in Q's (TD05HR) car, which layed down over 300 hp and tq with minimal mods, and it friggin flies. That would be the first non-stock motored evo I'd ever ridden in. I didn't know what I was missing.
Overall it was a good experience. Al, Dan, and shawn who was working his *** off were very cool to deal with. Big thanx to all of them. I will post the sheet as soon as I can find my USB cable for my camera. Hopefully today.

Well, It took awhile to post, because I lost my camera USB cord, but finally got around to getting another. Yeah, Al said it was the second weakest, the first being only 209hp.
After leaving Pruven, the spool up was about the same as before on the road. Crappy. Full boost at about 43-4500.
I found the culprit though after taking the intake side of the turbo all apart, and inspecting all the plumbing. The turbo is screwed. The shaft chucks in and out about 1 mm, and side to side about 3 or so. When I spin it by hand, it seems to be slowing down at one spot each time it goes around, almost like the shaft is warped.
I called my dealer to tell him the story again, after I'd already had the car there, AND at another dealer where they told me everything was fine. He was surprised to hear how weak the car was and after telling him about all my findings, (Perfect compression check-175psi accross the boards, among other things that were fine) I explained what I found with the turbo. He made me an appointment for next week to have the play in the shaft checked. We'll see if these guys actually do the right thing for once. I'll update that later.
Now let's see if I can post the dyno:
Oh, yeah-Custom reflash:$500.00
