Dyno Flash now tuning AEM EMS

I have been working on my car with my AEM set up for many months now. I have one of the first units ever made for the Evo 8 and its very well worn. I have spent hundreds of hours working with the AEM on my car and also I have tuned many other AEM equiped Evo 8's on a private basis.

I think I have gotten some decent results with my AEM tuning . My race car has logged 13,000 miles with the same engine ALL year long 15 drag events, lots of dyno time and huge abuse and held up well.

Here is some example of my work on the AEM

I am going to start offering my services for AEM EMS tuning both here on my home dyno at Pruven Perfromance AND during my frequent tuning trips

While the Dyno Flash reflash is a excelent tuning solution for 99 % of the people out there, people adding larger turbos and built motors start to need the flexability and adjustability of a full stand alone system. While an AEM EMS will never rival the driveability and plug and play simplicity of a reflashed stock ecu it does offer more potential for creating maximum whp, that is why I use the AEM on my 667 whp car.

Those who wish to have my services for AEM tuning please call (203) 515-4110 or email me at info@dynoflash.com for details

We did not hook up a tach signal on that pull in 3rd gear. As all evos have the same gear ratio - its fairly easy for me to know exactly what mph = which rpm.

If you can't tell anything from the dyno sheet I posted, I suggest you have your vision checked. Basically the car makes over 600 whp from spool up to red line what is there to tell ?

What I do is car tuning. The platform used for tuning is simply a tool for delivering electrical signals which run the ignition and injectors and monitor sensors. What you do with the tuning platform is far more important than which method you use.

In the old days I used to use carb jets and points and distributors to tune my 4 carb set up on my first car a '66 corvair 140 hp. The equipment used has advanced but the priciples of tuning are constant.

Comparing the Dyno Flash to the AEM, each has his own advantages and limitations.

Basically, on cars over 450 whp I suggest that you use the AEM just like I do - or even better the Motec. After 450 whp the stock air flow meter is just too big a burden and you really need the speed density style tuning of a stand alone.

Under 450 whp the Dyno Flash offers lower cost, easier installation and tuning and 95% of the performance of a AEM set up while maintaning stock like driveability and function - including starting and idle.

The question of which platform is the better choice for a particular user really depends on his / her own intended use and modification level.

The main purpose of my post is to let people know that I am tuning these systems - NOT to start a flame fest or have arguments with haters like yourself. You have already made this same post about 5 times in the past and I have answered your question about 5 times.

I think what you really mean to say is not "so the dyno flash evo does not run dyno flash?" BUT rather "The Dyno Flash evo does NOT run a Dyno Flash."

The purpose of my race car is to first have fun becuase I love evos and I want to race mine. 2nd to be a test bed and learning lab to discover new things about 4g63 engines and tuning and 3rd to showcase my skills as a tuner. It says "DYNO FLASH.com " on the side becuase I am the tuner, builder, driver and mechanic. When I attend racing events and car shows all over the east coast we meet normal evo 8 owners who are not internet addicts who spend all their time posting on this web site. Believe it or not we find people with evos who we stop on the road and say "evolutionm.net what ???" when I ask them if they are on the evolutionm.net boards. We campaign the race car to reach those customers. Hopefully when they read the "Dyno Flash.com" sign on the side at the race or event they will go look at my web page and learn about our reflash tuning.

for price quotes - Give me a call. We take a lot more time to properly set up an AEM system if you want the idel, cold start, and partial load all tuned to perfection.

While many AEM tuners limit the tuning to only full throttle dyno tunes, we feel that the partial load and idel issues are very important also to the driving experience and they usually take some time to dial in.

At the present time I am hoping to add maybe one or two AEM appointments to each tuning trip I do with the Dyno Flashes. I can go anywhere, any time that we can find 5 guys total with any combnation of reflash and AEM. However the AEM's will take a lot longer to tune properly. Also my goal is to at the same time I am tuning the car be giving the car owner a tutorial in AEM tuning so that in the future he/she will be able to make fine adjustments to the maps I provde them with confidence. It will be both a tuning session and tutorial.

After all of the negative publicity that this vendor is recieving, I think that I would rather take my chances and tune my AEM myself thank you. Bad customer service echoes very loudly on the internet.
