Steve (NOVA) is a friend of mine and I talked to him after he went to the track. I don't find it hard to beleive at all that in 90+ degree temps, after several runs, being the first time at the track with his evo that he didn't get the best times. I've spoken with him several times since and he is completely satisfied with his flash.

As for a trip to Bradenton I'm down whenever.. Lemme know when; I'm allways down for a trip down there; love that track. Thursday the 23rd and Thursday the 30th are both test and tune. I can make it for either one.

I'm Dynoflashed and my EVO beats up on other stock or slightly modded EVOs all the time. Al stuff does work.
I did a 12.65 at 110mph and I'm very pleased with the car.

I've never heard of that, have you tried contacting Al? I know EVOs run very rich. What kind of intake are you running? I have the HKS suction kit, works well with the flash.

Understand, the reflash only touches the pre-programmed "open loop" mode maps.
AFAIK, the stuff Al changes only gets invoked when you are WOT, etc.

This doesn't sound like your problem.

Sounds like you had some other sensor go bad maybe ???

I question whether or not only WOT is affected... my car also seems to have added part throttle response... Maybe Al will chime in and clarify...

If you drive your evo only once or twice a month like you say. I bet you fouled out the plugs and the only way your going to fix it will be to replace them. I worked at a Mitsu dealer and had problems with plugs in some evo's getting fouled out and running like crap. This happened because the sales people would move the car and quickly shut it off never alowing it to get to full temp. I've replace 3 sets of plugs in one car because of this. After they have been fouled out no matter much you try to get it to run right again with those plugs it won't happen they need to be replaced.. Put in a cheep set of bpr7es NGK's and disconnect the cam sensor spin over the motor with the plugs out to get rid of any fuel that might still be in there. That should help you out.

Merc - if you have complaints with my product the place to call is me directly 203-515-4110. I stand behind my stuff 100% and will resolve any issues you have. Its difficult when we find a customer complaining here on the internet but no contact directly.

It is quite possible that a mechanical issue of some kind - e.g. vac leak, boost leak, etc may have sprung up that may be causing your car to run rich.

As Mike correctly pointed out on tunes with the stock injectors - such as yours WE DO NOT TOUCH the idel or start up aspects of the stock ecu mapping so there should be NO effect on start up and idel.

As such - given your patern of driving and the symptoms you are reporting I would concur with the other gentleman that a new set of spark plugs would be a good diagnostic measure. The NGK BR 7 ES is a good choice gapped to the factory specs.

As you know I tuned your car for 11.0 - 11.1 / 1 a/f ratio which I have found to be PRUDENT and safe for cars operating on pump gas and apporx 20.5 to 21 psi peak boost. We know your car was tuned to this target b/c we confirmed with MOTEC PLM a very accurate wideband 02 sesnor. While slightly more power can be found tuning to 11.5 / 1 a/f (about 8 - 10 more whp) we have found that in such cases very often slight knock activity may result which causes the stock ecu to retard the ign timing slight resulting in that 8 - 10 whp gain being negated, a rough power band and very high egts.

As many ofour customer's know I keep back up copies of each and every tune and I have just looked ay your tune and it should be running just as I have asserted - a 11.0 - 11.1 / 1 a/f from spool up to red line

However - in many cases as I said above mechanical issues may have presented which can effect the way the car runs

In most cases these problems are easy to diagnose and resolve - they usually involve a loose i/c pipe of a vac line which came off - etc.

We always choose to tune on a very conserative level when tuning our CUSTOMER's car and that shows with a very good relaibaility record and no reporte engine failures with our product. However - our target a/f's are sometimes too conservative for some customers who seek more dramatic results.

Merc 300 - I feel bad that you are aparently disappointed with the results of our tune.

I am returning to florida in mid October - the 18th through 25th and I want to offer you a free retune.

We can hook up the wide band see what your a/f is reading and make corrections as you deem appropriate.

IF you want a slightly leaner a/f then I am willing to accomidate you.

I want you to be happy with the tune - I want you to go fast like many of our customers do and I want to go the xtra mile to make sure that your tune is dialed in properly and works to your satisfaction.

Let me know if you are interested and I will book you an appontment at your pleasure

I love to mess with stock Evo's I think it gives the driver many reason to get a move on and start to mod.
