I plan on switching to E85 soon and have few questions but don't have a green turbo........the help is appreciated.
My 05 Evo VIII current engine set-up is IX Turbo (ported), 272/272, Walbro 255, RC 750s, HKS DLI, AEM Intake, DC Manifold, Ebay 02 housing, DC Downpipe 3", Thermal exhuast 3", AMS Intercooler, AMS LICP, ARP Headstuds, NGK BPR7ES, Stock (tuned) ECU
At 24psi on 93 octane the car put down 355whp and 343lbft on Pure Tunings (Toledo,Ohio) AWD Mustang Dyno
My questions: Can anyone provide the flow rate of a a IX turbo so I can do the math.(I was told mine flows 10cfm more air than stock)..or...more importantly can I continue to run the 750s with E85 an not max out the injectors? At what boost level?
What is the recommend plug to use on E85? ( I saw BP8ES???)
Does having an HKS DLI box change the plug temp selection in anyway?

With your mods, I agree with Uuri... I would go with RC 1000cc injectors. If you go bigger than an EVO Green then you want to consider 1200cc, a dual fuel pump, fuel rail, and fuel pressure regulator.
Seems there are two different thoughts on colder plugs... E85 burns cooler than pump gas, so some folks will tell you colder plugs are not recommended. On the other hand, you'll be running higher PSI, cylinder pressure, and producing heat. Personally I run standard plugs in my IX w/E85 and the HKS DLI II. And, I have no plans to try colder plugs (E85 burns cooler than pump).
I also have the HKS DLI II. It will definately help if you run colder plugs. The DLI II helps with spark at higher boost, normal or cold plugs.

Looks like the thing is rated at 580cfm at 2.0pr (~14.7psi) which is about 40lb/min. It looks like it's around 580-600 up to 3.0pr (~28psi). So basically depending on how underrated it it is and how much you can actually flow with your engine, you can plug in 40-42 lb/min i suppose.
1000 injectors will be better, you may make 770's work, but they will have high IDC's and may run too lean up top. They will be fine for whatever boost you want to run because it'll only happen in the low-mid rpm range. By the time you get up to high rpm's your boost will fall. It's still hard to say thou as every set-up will put different amount of air through it at the same boost levels.
Just do it on 770 if you're short on money and see if you can make it work.
HKS DLI is an ignition amplifier (as far as i know) and has nothing to do with heat range of spark plugs. What it does is it allows you to run wider gap at higher boost, and the wider the gap the better the spark. The better the spark - the better it is for power and simply for not being blown out.
Spark plug range - high boost means high temps means it will be beneficial to run a colder spark.
E85 has a high latent heat of vaporisation - in laymen's terms it means it cools the intake charge when it's being vaporised after leaving injectors, resulting in lower cylinder temps. But I believe that shouldn't be considered as the reason to not run colder plugs. It's the same as saying "well E85 burns cooler, so i don't need an intercooler".
It all helps by working together to give you lower intake temps to start with so you can make more power by using more air and by evacuating heat from the combustion chamber, so you don't have ignition/knock issues.
So that's my opinion. Good luck with switching!

Looking at this thread, I might be going with E85 sometime next year. My question is, can that be able to run both summer and winter? I heard that you have to have two tune to run E85??

This thread made the decision for me. I will go E85 as soon as it comes to Finland.
Mainly one thing is bothering me. The rubber seals. I think I have to replace my injector sealant rings (the O-rings).. I have a Evo 6 so..

I think the first post needs to be updated a little for the newbies. You really should shoot for a AFR of 11.8-12.2:1 on E85....11.0-11.3:1 is too rich for E85. If you wanna stay in the 11's, i would say no richer than 11.8:1. I shoot for 12.0:1 across the board.
