Boost cut, spark plugs, or what?

Second pull in 3rd gear. Rpm at 5200, -1 timing, no knock, boost solid at 23.5, load solid at 230, with wot the engine just cuts. Dead for about a second then comes back. While this happens the load dives the AGR spikes and this point off the gas.

What gives? Bad plugs? Boost cut? Bad tune? Please help...

I think it is just blown sparks( aka misfire). If you make your car too rich with E85, it happens. I think who runs E85 should do the ignition upgrade. ( Or just run lean )
Also, your -1 timing around 5000 rpm is too low for E85. try 6 or higher at 24 psi level. (I can run 26.5 psi at 5000rpm with 6 timing)

If it was the boost cut, you should know it after comparing your log and your boost cut setting.

at that load at that rpm sounds like a boost cut.

Email me the map if you want me to check it out and give you a hand.

Cheers!

Ok, I updated the original post with some images. This is what I am looking at in evoscan and then what my tables look like in ecuflash.

From my understanding I upped the load for the boost cut so I really shouldn't be running into that. Are there hotter plugs to run for the IX? I have only read that the stock ones run in the IX. Should I gap just a little on the tighter side?

Oh, and I just realized something. Even though the load in evoscan says that it is 227 @ 5k RPM how is it running at -1 timing? That would lead me to believe that the actual load that the ECU is reading is probably @ 260 where the timing advance is set to -1. If that were the case then it would look like I am running into boost cut.

Please somebody that knows more than me please chime in. I will advance my timing a bit in the higher load/RPM but it looks like there are two approaches when dealing with the boost cut. Up the delay time from 1s to 5-7s or up the load slightly for the given RPM. Any good argument on which or should I even need to do this?

Yeah, that boost cut level is set too low. raise it way more. mine is set at 305 all the way to 5500 rpm and 280 by redline. Yeah, My load level is that high, I am hitting 290 ish at peak and tapers down to 260. If you have an MBC, just set it all the way to 319 and test it. MBC is pretty reliable. Also, don't forget to raise more timing values. especially on that -1 area.

Today, I experienced blown sparks few times when my engine wasn't hot enough at 27 psi. It took forever to bring my engine up to optimal heat range. Actually, It never reached the optimal heat range. However, It was pretty cold night for socal I have to say.

Also, I noticed your map is way off to run E85.
Use this as a base map of E85.

Ok, that did the trick had to up the load for the boost cut to 280 at lower rpms tapering from 5k-7.5k to 265. Boost is at 26psi and looking good with my problem solved.

taenaive, thank you for the map. I was in the garage pulling timing, and adding fuel and got tired of doing it in the car. Came upstairs saw your post and made life a lot easier.

I have a little knock around 4500 but going to add some fuel to see if that fixes the problem. Other than that it is all good. Now I get to have some fun at autoX this weekend.
