My E85 Impressions
I have been running E85 for about one week and the only negative side effect has been that I have not been able to keep my foot off the gas, thus causing massive amounts of E85 to be used!
But it's not so bad, I filled up yesterday for 3.27/ Gallon!!!!!! Which is over 1 dollar a gallon cheaper then 93 octane in my area..I have 2 E85 stations that I can now frequent and since I have found the 2nd I can not worry so much about depending on one station.
The inside of my exhaust tip is clean and shiny and there is no more spicy smell from not having a cat running gasoline (although I kind of liked it).
Installing the injectors was harder then the actual tuning and scaling of the injectors (PTE 880's) thanks to some ballpark latency tables found in the injector scaling and latency thread. +/- 3% does not worry me one bit and sometimes they even zero out.. Tuning for E85 took me only 5 pulls to get the fuel 90% and timing 90% finished, but I did not want to spend too much time since I plan on disabling lean spool this week..I am able to run timing just as aggresive as my C16 tune which made 397hp/380tq at the wheels. I plan on making it to the track shortly and as long as I can get traction I should have some decent times.
On a side note I am not getting as much knock between shifts as I was before (only 2-3) but could have also been due to revamping my fuel maps.
The car feels geat now and I'd like to thank everyone for the tips and information that have helped me..
