National average is somewhere around $3.35 a gallon. It's $3.59 up this way, but there's not really many stations to get it from.

Yup, settings never change. Brian's was actually a pretty strong 9 for his mods, they usually make around 300-305whp.

317whp/290wtq on our Mustang and 339whp / 318wtq on the DynaPak

216 Load
10.9 AFR

I can't remember the boost off the top of my head but probably around 20-21psi at 7500

317whp peak on our Mustang, which made 339whp on RRE's dynaPak
Revisiting this as I just installed RC 1000's in my personal evo with FPgreen running 100 oct as I am switching to E85 here very soon (have 10 gallons waiting for the 100 in the tank to run out)

peak IDC with denso 720cc = 98%

peak IDC with new RC 1000cc's:

7094 rpm
68.2% IDC
41lb/min
2061 AirFlow
249.5 load
11.4 AFR

29psi to 24psi up top

So almost exactly 30% drop with the 1000's. Which means I will probably be right back up in the 9X% with E85.

We'll see soon...

WOW Jim!! I am seeing this post and I just can't believe it. I know for a fact all the dyno time you went through locally, all the combos you tried and all the frustration which by the way you only displayed a little bit of it(I know that well).

I vividly recal your frustration after you did your Evo 9 turbo, other local Evo owners including myself were putting mysteriously higher numbers compare to your set up...things never added up on your car, you should have made more power a long time ago..

Botton line, I am very happy that you are happy, it looks like you nailed it as far is your tune and your combo. The last thing I am asking you is to bring your Evo to the local track, everyone in town is having trouble even running 12's and there have been only two high 11s second Evos ever, maybe your car has wht it take to make a 11 sec car as well.

Thanks, Carlos. The E85 "poor man's race gas" is loads of fun, and it could likewise add a few ponies to your Z06! We need to meet up, so you can ride in a real car again. Bwahahaha!

How did you add another 100whp to the Z06? I bet you added one of these, didn't you?

And you probably added a 'chip', right? You rascal!

I'm averaging 13.61mpg since I converted to E85 two months ago. I also do a lot of data logging, which skews the data a wee bit. Also, all of my driving is in-town, no freeway or highway driving.

Jim,

I took my car to Quality-Motorsports in Dallas, TX. They did a QM-600 cam, a stage II ported heads (new 11.4 Compression ratio, 3 angle valve job with new titanium retainers and stiffer springs and studs, ported intake and exhaust ports and CNC combustion chamber work). I already had headers and air filter.

Additionally some porting on the intake manifold and ported throtle body and last but not least a custom retune. I did not bother to post on my car any more since some people on this forum acussed me of saying that I claim my cars or whatever I drive is the best thing on the road.

As you can already guess, I will take you for a spin like I always do to my friends. . By the way, the cam ended being to agressive for my taste so I am ru.nning on stock cam, soon to put a milder cam. As far is the final numbers I chose to have lesser power on the dyno in exchange of a lesser quality gas. The dyno/shop is located is Dallas and they could tune on 93oct but I choose on a 91oct tune since that is wat is available in AZ. Had I have a tune on 93oct and I would probably picked another 15whp-15lb-tq.

Carlos

My car took a major hit in MPG with E-85, like 200mile per tank...
