Get a switch and get it done correctly. I have dirven around with 25 gallons extra in the car. Im not really to worried about the car spontaneously combusting. Im just adicted to E85. i can run pump gas but why would I?

Yes, you can drive on pump gas w/ the E85 tune, but you will max out the fuel trims and likely throw a CEL. My suggestion would be to put in some 93 when you're down to a few gallons of E85 to ease in the fuel trims before going straight 93. This will help avoid the start/idle issues with the trims at 0.

And yes, use 93 and not 87/89. Using 87 will only make the chance of knock higher than 93. Also, if you have a manual controller, turn down the boost for the trip back.

Also, whoever suggested putting 10 gallons of E85 in the trunk should consider that 10 gallons will only get him about 150 miles and likely get him really high on the way from the fumes.

I kinda like the smell myself... sort of a free air freshener if you will.

If your getting high from fumes maybe you should try to put the lid on the gas can properly. Maybe get some decent fuel jugs. You wont have the fumes, even if its in your back seat you wont notice it...

Guys I decided to go ahead and get a second tune for pump 93. Going to get a tactronix cable and ECU flash so I can switch maps when needed.

Thanks for answering my theoretical question

I'm not sure that I see the problem with this?

I don't know what the hell you're doing on the highway to get 150 miles on 10 gallons but thats absurb. I get that many miles driving around town.

Are you seriously averaging 15 MPG on the highway?

He's probably on E85 and they have been known to go closer to E90 in cali, thus it burns faster. Plus he probably isn't afraid to drive the car.

Hwy driving i get at least 17... cali E85 or Nevada E85. its all producing the same mileage. I would think it depends on your tune and how hard you drive...

tephra v5 mapswitching duh! If you don't have this setup on your car with an E85 tune, you are a fool. Flick a switch and fill on gasoline, then continue driving. It's almost too easy.
