Go the e85 route if its available. It has proven gains and seems to be safer than Meth. All you really need now is a tune and your set to go with your current mods.

E-85. You can get tuned for both E-85 and gas and with a flip of a switch you can use either fuel.

If you are still on the stock turbo you will be fine to switch to E85. Gains should be about the same. You might be a little lower tq w/ the E but it is definitely easier to deal with.

Hey guys quick question hows the E-85 fuel work is i decided to switch mine too? I mean after I switch to E-85 then all I have to use is E-85 or half 92 octane from regular gas station and half E-85 or full tank E-85? what happen is you use 92 octane? I really have no idea but people recommend me to switch to E-85. thanks in advance.

I recommend you do some research. Get tuned for any new fuel you plan to use.

Dannievo: I don't think many of the folks in this thread have noticed that you're from Iceland. I can't personally speak to the availability of either fuel over there, but I seem to recall being told E-85 was somewhat difficult to get ahold of there.

By "meth", I'm going to assume you mean meth injection? (On a Green, that's probably a safe assumption, but you never know.)

If E-85 wasn't as easy to get as it is here, I'd probably be running meth injection, because I'd have more control over the final mixture, and nothing but the meth injection equipment will be exposed to the fuel.

But, because I can get E-85 at the local pump here, I find E-85 to be a lot more convenient (although we have pretty significant swings in ethanol content to deal with here in the midwest).

i was shying away from e85 thinking i'd have to either run exclusively on it or tune every time i wanna swop fuels.
i.e in the week DD for work e85 is a waste as i won't be using its performance enhancement and have a little worse mpg.
but come the weekend i wanna play and have power so having to tune every weekend is a no no! ???

You probably don't want to do a full methanol conversion. But if you can get methanol for a decent price, a meth injection kit is probably a better choice for your region. Just do a quick search for "methanol injection", and you'll turn up plenty of vendors selling turnkey setups for that.

Nope. I meant "methanol" conversion; he's talking about E-85 vs. meth in his posts, and I wanted to make sure he wasn't thinking of running meth straight, rather than injecting it.

(If you want to run 100% methanol, there's considerably more work involved than just slapping a big set of injectors and a large pump on the car.)
