Are my mods enough to run e85?

Mods are in my sig. Looking to try e85 for a good bump in power before I go with the new turbo setup. Is it possible to make around the 400awhp with my mods and an e85 tune? Also, anyone running the tephra switch mod? Is it reliable? Thanks in advance.

you can run e85 if you want but it is hard to get the stock turbo over 400whp specialy on an evo 8... if i were you i wouldnt do an e85 tune because u will spend a fortune in fuel... i would throw an alchol kit on it personaly... but thats just my 2 cents lol

Might need a minimum 1000cc injectors depending on your turbo choice.

If you want to run e85, you would probably need bigger injectors than the ones you already have AND depending on how much your e85 is, it might not be too bad. Here in MA e85 is a full dollar cheaper than 93 so it's actually better to use e85.

I see from your sig that you are running the switch mod. What all was required to do that? The new turbo is gonna be a ways down the road (having my first kid), so I wasn't thinking of upgrading the injectors again just yet. Are 780's not enough for my goal? You will have to excuse my newbness when it comes to e85, I am trying to get the most gains I can for as little as I can.

I ran Denso 660cc injectors @ 28psi for 6 months at 120% injector duty cycle (according to evoscan). I had no problems, but i don't recommend what i did to anyone else. Yes you can run 780cc injectors, but you will probably be limited on how much boost you can run.

Here's instructions on how to wire up/purchase a toggle switch:
http://www.dsm-ezine.com/evoVIII_adc_switch.html

You can also use your intercooler spray button as a toggle switch, but i'm not familiar with that process and i "think" there's no additional wiring needed, just some reflashing. Can anyone clarify regarding the ICS switch?

Best to bring the car to a shop that has experience in doing this.

No wiring needed for the VIII Tephra map switching using the ICS switch. Works like a charm.

I'm convinced that even a bone stock EVO could make more power on E85 with no mods other than an E85 tune. So far no one has proven me correct; on the other hand no one has proven me wrong!

Yes, you can run e85 if you want... just get adequate injectors and fuel pump(s) and you will be set and be able to run more boost and make more power..

since you already have a walbro and as long as you plan on staying stock turbo for a while the only thing i would suggest is picking up some 1000cc injectors...you can find a set used on here for cheap...I got a set of RC 1000cc for $230 shipped with only 8k miles on them...

I made 385/350 on stock 8 turbo with 1000 cc injectors at 27psi tapering to 22. Now making tons more power on a ported/coated IX turbo at 29 tapering to 24.
