Ahh, I see where this is going. I planned on keeping it at a local automotive garage. Believe me, I don't like the idea of keeping a drum of fuel under my bed Anyway, I think I am going to buy a 5 gallon jug of the stuff just to set the tune on, so as the ethanol content decreases, it will only get more rich.

On second thought, I can set a conservative tune on the Class 2 E85, so when it becomes Class 1 it will lean itself out a bit. Here in Chicago we only see about 2-3 months of Class 1 E85 anyhow.

it'll be hard to tell exactly what class of gas you have since during the transition period, i'm sure it takes time to have the new mix stabelized in the underground storage tanks. Same issues when they go from "summer blend" to "Winter blend" fuel for regular gasoline...

I'll be attempting the graduated cylinder check later this week, we'll see just how much corn is in there

I know it will be hard, I've been transferred to almost the top of these companies and no one knows what I'm even talking about

Good news anyhow:

I received a call back from someone high up at Petrolliance LLC and they told me that they pumped their first batch of E85 last week in 2 stations local to me. They use E75 in the winter. In about 2 weeks I should have a pretty solid amount of Ethanol available to me for my tune

why not come up and get a drum of E98 from S GNG, that way you mix your own blend to whatever Ethanol level you want. And just be consistant with your mix. 55gallons- take out 8 Gallons (using your 5gallon jug) add Pump gas of your choice. Stir the drum and you now have 55 gallons of E85 on hand at all times.

That's exactly what we will be doing for our turbo cars. As well as for racing Index classes here in late fall and early spring up here in South East WI

I have been testing the E85 from my local stations all summer long, and it has been over E90 everytime I have filled up. I am curious as to what it will be in the winter. The rumor is that they are not going to be switching to a lower blend because it doesn't seem to make that much of a difference in the cold. I guess I will find out.

With Capitalism still being defined by profitability, and with gasoline costing more per gallon than ethanol, it would seem to me that fuel makers would be incentivized to blend in as little gasoline into their "Exx" product(s) as they can get away with.

After much diligent research, I was able able to track down a picture of the actual fuel company scientist who invented E85. He also built the first E85 EVO.

I also included a photo of the EVO. Actually this is the more recent EVO X version.

Yes, I agree with you. The less gasoline they mix with the "Exx" the more money they make.
