E85 switch in Europe help needed not looking for High whp
Ok, i searched and read but have not found what i am looking for. This is my Evo 2004 VIII setup:
Invidia exhaust manifold
Invidia turbo elbow & catback exhaust
Invidia upper ic piping kit
Walbro 255
ACT streetclutch + flywheel
Avid racing 4 piece motormounts
Ecutek tune
APS bov
(& some other small things i forgot)
22-24psi
data equipment
Evoscan GPS navigator to log & tune
Innovate LC1 (yet to be installed)
I like to switch to E85 now that it recently has come available close to where i live and premium gas prizes are getting ridiculously high here in Europe.
1 liter = .26 gallon = $2.35 p/liter for +98 octane, wich if i'm calculating right comes down to 130 dollar for a full tank of gas in Europe. I read prices of about $2.50 per gallon in the US wich roughly comes down to 40 dollar for a full tank?
Now as an EVO driver offcourse you should not ever complain about costs lol but the way things are going i probably have to put a kidney on Ebay just to be able to drive to work

I searched and figured out 3 things. I need bigger injectors, colder plugs & a tune to upload via evoscan. I dont know squat about tuning myself and i'm just to busy to learn it for myself. Tell me what to monitor and i can, but as far as mapping, loads, timing, advancing, I know the principles but dont ask me to tune it myself unless you want to witness (c)armageddon

There's not much knowledge over here in Europe on E85 tuning yet, only flexifuel standard cars, or they sell some device wich you install before the injectors and miracelously lets your car run on E85. Wich in my humble opinion is fine for your average 110hp family car but not for an EVO. They can do it off course, but charge around 500 to 600 euro's for a tune with dyno and lots of blablabla wich averages about roughly 800 dollars and they also have to invent the wheel again as far as tuning an EVO for E85 since there are only less then a couple of hundred in the Netherlands and that's a total of EVO 2's to X's. Since in the US using E85 in the EVO is pretty much accepted and already well tested here's the simple question to this long intro.
Here's the dyno for my EVO and the power output with the ecutek tune. It's absolutly fine for me, going to 350hp & more torque with minor adjustments would be nice but not necessary.
What do i need exactly, who do i need to @mail or call to order the parts & get the tune to run E85 on my EVO VIII as it is now.

thank you in advance

parts you will need will just be a set of 100cc and up injectors. also get a tactrix cable then look for a tuner here on the forums. he will get you setup using ecuflash since you can do map switching with it and it has a tons of mods.
thanks for the referral Benja. E85 is well worth the results it offers for sure. Just pm me what you need help with DutchEVOVIII and we will go from there.
Just keep in mind a few things whenr unning e85.
1. it can and will dilute your oil alittle bit so you should change your oil every 1500 miles atleast. (or buy a very high quality oil for more mileage usage)
2. it does require 30% more fuel due to the high ethanol content, so it will require filling up more frequent.
3. I highly recommend utilizing the alt maps and having a lower octane fuel to switch to on a seperate map for long cruises / driving.
Looking at it at a performance standpoint it is the best bang for buck you can find. Its pretty much race gas. You'll be able to run outrageous amounts of boost and still high timing without detonation.
