Is this the end of e85? Senate backs repeal of ethanol credit

1)There is a lot of legislation to take place before the blender credit is gone.
2) Regular E10 gas will go up 4 1/2 cents without the blender credit
3) e85 will go up from 31.5 cents to 38.25 cents without the credit (70% to 85% of the 45 cent credit on pure ethanol)
Thus the net difference would be 27 (winter) to 33.75 cents (summer blend)
Here E85 is 64 cents cheaper than E10 gas (and was just 94 cents 2 weeks ago).
Perhaps they might do something with low cost/no cost well royalties and other oil tax breaks at the same time-- who knows -- we will know when we know.
99% of the VEETC blender credit was paid to oil companies for making E10-- 1% went to E85.

As far as Im concerned, when the government passes bills like this it still takes a while for anything to go into effect. I don't see this being the end of E-85, and if it is lets face it theres nothing we can do about it unless you want to make it yourself. I guess we will find out as time passes.

Think about who the lobbiests are promoting alternative fuels. GM, Dodge, and Ford all have flex fuel cars. Corn is RENEWABLE, we can grow more. Can you grow oil?
E85 is going nowhere. The only haters of corn are the people who havent used it.

This will still need to go to the White House prior to being passed completely. I for one think the subsidies need to end and be reallocated towards areas that would make more sense. 3 decades of Ethanol subsidies is enough. They need to work on developing other sources for Ethanol other than corn for sure. I am guessing all those votes that Obama needs from the mid-west will have a impact on weather or not the White House approve this or not.

$3.59 is a steal!!!...I've been paying $3.88 for the last 4 months and just two weeks ago it actually dropped down to $3.86 haha...but compared to premium 92 in this area at $4.28 E85 is sooooooooo worth it!!!

I've made just about 60 gallons as of tonight. Average for those 60 is around 78%, I'm going to distill it all one more time now which will finish it off and it will be run like that. I'm hoping to see about 90% when I run it again.
The batch I ran tonight was brought up to temp and ran the 1st gallon all by heating the boiler with garbage.
