Thats cause most of the flex fuel vehicles are made by domestic companies aka Ford and GM, and they are all idiots.

E85 shouldn't run the same AFRs that gasoline does (gasoline calibration) and it should have increased timing. If they understood this people would see better fuel economy. Not pump gas better but certainly increased.

E85 would also have to have a better mile per dollar value then regular gas to make it worthwhile. Something that isn't that hard to do if they mass produced it and ran prices $1+ less then gasoline.

Let me just add, **** GM. I have been a GM man my entire life. When they took our tax money to bail them out I got rid of every single GM product I owned, including a truck that was 1 year old and paid for. I drive all Ford's now (well Mitsubishi).

So let me go on with **** GM again, that POS Regal is BUILT IN GERMANY! By God that should be against the law after receiving all our tax money to bail their crap company out. Man that makes me mad. Made in Germany, kiss my *** GM.

As I recall, after WW2 it was Japan that accepted our tax money to rebuild their country...including what is now Mitsubishi. So how is that workin' out for ya?

Back on topic...

Has anyone seen any recent (and hopefully accurate) reports on whether any of the Ford EcoBoost engines will be flex-fuel? The last I read was that initially they would not be, but they would be upgraded to flex-fuel capability at some point.

Dave.....Design a "badass" E-85 build on your 5.0....this will probably require more compression for a NA version or just build a boosted version. I always get a chuckle when "grass roots" folks show the factory guys how their car should have really rolled out of the factory.

The F150 Ecoboost is suppose to be flex fuel in 2012, I have my order in for one if it happens already.

Big difference in Japan and GM's situation but feel free to support any crap car company you choose.

I do hope you're right. That would be awesome; well, it will be awesome IF the engine is tuned to take advantage of the E85.

Now, imagine that flex-fuel twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost in a Mustang. Now imagine it rated at 400hp on gasoline and, say, 450, on E85. WOW! That would be very impressive.

How many fan boys would trade in their foreign import tuner car for a nice American performance coupe? I for one!!!

A subaru outback has the same american parts content as a mustang gt. They shouldnt be able to call it domestic just because the ceo lives in somalia west (detroit).

Of the two, I'd still go with the Mustang.

The latest is not too bad. More blender pumps will give Americans more choices.

Impasse is always a sign that nothing is happening. There are many producers that will produce for the carbon credit. We have a local refinery that processes all their fruit waste into e100 here for that reason.
