So from the looks of it using the cable and software I could switch between stock and tuned maps by uploading different files to the ECU? The reason I ask this is that I currently have a TTM flash on my ECU (05) and would want to flash it back to stock prior to any major work on the car. Are all of the factory flashes the same for 05 USDM EVOs?

you could switch maps if necessary, however I would caution against reflashing things too many times (There is mixed data on how many times the ECU can actually be reflashed, and how many times the flash is guaranteed for by the manufacturer)

AFAIK its difficult to tell if your car is reflashed unless the dealer actually does some sort of checksum on your ECU. What I have been told is that currently there is only one definition file that applies to all 05 ECUs, that likely means that there was only one ECU and one major firmware for it..

I believe th JM9693 listed here is 2005... you can always identify what the stock rom version is on your TTM flash when you read it too.

I hope someone can find a way to get rid of the decel issue in which the car kind of floats until 3500rpms when it's almost like a relay is flipped allowing the engine to slow itself down. Double clutching has been the only way to get around this.

Which is the one for the intercooler spray? I'd like to set it to turn on when the car comes on (instead of hardwiring it that way), and lower the temps where it starts to spray.

Thanks!

You can Fix that by decreasing the steps in "Desired ISCV intial step position with AC off-Drive" map.

it will keep the rpms from hanging but take to many out and the car might stall out coming to a stop.

Why are you worried what the steps are at 34 celcius. Your motor isn't even at operating temp.

My settings won't work for u do to my cams (lack of vacume= higher ISCV)

Take some time and make small 1-2 step adjustments until it doesn't hang but doesn't drop down to below 700 rpm.

I agree MJ. There has to be a lot more going on here then we currently know. As it sits right now, the ECU would seem to simplified to actually work for all the varying conditions just using a simple load / rpm setup.

I would imagine that we will find there are some VE tables here that allow it to work more like several other car ECU's that I have seen. To give an example; what seems to be common from several manufactures is how they calculate how much fuel to put in once you hit open loop. They tend to take the current air flow and move it to a VE table where a modifier is applied (based on Air temp / air flow / knock conditions / rpms / etc) then passed to the fuel look up table to apply the fuel. This allows a great amount of flexibility for varying conditions. The fueling on the Evo still doesnt make a great deal of sense to me, because I think we are missing some key components on how the car determines what it should do. Then again, I may be expecting something more complex then this really is too though.
